"We need to get rid of that thing," he said, "It's not safe to have him with us."
Pizeera turned towards the male.
"hey, don't be so hasty, it might be fun to see what this human is going to do now he's amongst us all, besides here comes Ayesha, take the boy , you're going to have to take her
as well I think."
Pizeera lay down on his belly, legs stretched out in front of him, and one by one looked at everyone to see what was going to happen next.

Ayesha's paws moved faster as she saw the others from her group standing around staring in her direction, wasn't it amazing ..they were all waiting to congratulate her on bringing them back something new. She wasn't sure what she was going to do with him for now, but out of the five of them, surely they could think of something.
Stopping in front of NightFlame and Phrixus, the liard grinned at them both, excited waiting for their approval, when it dawned on her they were frowning at her, while Pizeera lay there, looking like he was waiting for something to happen.
"WHAT... Why are you looking at me and the human like that, I bought you all something special, you can't have seen one like him before...he....he... WHAT ?? "

Phrixus kept from letting out a growl as he eyed the beast.
"Have you not heard the stories?"

"Why can't we keep him... he's all alone and tired and sad, he needs some friends, and we're all travelling together, we didn't know each other before properly and ...and I want to see him smile and be happy."
Looking behind her, she saw him trying to talk to Memkria
" see he's not hurting her"
Snapping her head back to Phrixus, she stared at him
" what stories ?"

Phrixus was surprised that Ayesha had not heard any of these stories. He thought that everyone knew them.
"Prides would lose members because of these giant hairless beasts. They sit and wait for individuals or groups of two or three to come around and then they used these sticks that shoot thunder to kill them."
He glanced over at the human again, and then back to Ayesha.
"This one doesn't have one, but he has that sharp silver thing. I don't trust him, he needs to go."

Ayesha again looked at the one she had found and then looked back again at Phrixus warily.
"Just because others that looked like him killed others of our own kind, doesn't mean that this one has, thats not fair Phrixus."
Looking past him her eyes fell on the fox who was sleeping beside NightFlame, looking all innocent.
"That's saying that her down there, just because she got no sense of humour and is always spitting and snappy and everything else, that every other fox we might meet is going to be the same and get a bad name cause of what she does."
"Well ....I still want to keep him. I'll look after him and feed him and make sure he leaves you all alone...hows that ?"

Night Flame made sure to keep her gaze on Isha while the others spoke. How sweet and innocent the little fox looked like in her slumber... Almost like a carefree cub who relaxed in her mother's embrace after exhausting herself by playing all day.
Except Isha was no cub. And she was not a mother.
"Well ....I still want to keep him. I'll look after him and feed him and make sure he leaves you all alone...hows that ?"
"Well, I say we have a vote. Which ever side has more votes is what we'll go with. Is that fair?"
The dark lioness closed her eyes momentarily, letting out a small, frustrated sigh.
"And what good does a voting do, Phrixus?" she asked, glancing at Ayesha from her eye corner.
"Ayesha want him to stay, looks like Memkrias does as well. Pizeera already stated that it will be 'fun to see what this human is going to do', and knowing the fox she'll be very much curious of the boy. That would be four votes for the boy to stay."
She gave the fox a quick look, making sure she was still all right and sleeping peacefully before she pushed herself on her feet. Her expression was calm, but she seemed rather tense.
"It was very nice to meet you all", she said, "but I will take my leave now."
Without another word Night Flame turned and walked away from the group. Her calm expression faltered as a troubled and slightly sad one took its place.

Ayesha turned around from Phrixus fast, facing NightFlame and moved till she was in front of her.
"Why do you have to go, are you saying that if the boy stays then you go ? , where are you going ? Do you have others that are hiding that we can't see ?"
Pausing and then taking anther breath the liard kept on asking questions.
" Are we not good enough to travel with, Is it only the fox you want to be around ?, Is it something I have done... shouldn't I have stroked your lovely fur before ?"

Night Flame didn't get far when Ayesha suddenly stopped her. She lifted an eyebrow at the liard, waiting for her to speak, and she didn't have to wait long.
"Why do you have to go, are you saying that if the boy stays then you go ? , where are you going ? Do you have others that are hiding that we can't see ? Are we not good enough to travel with, Is it only the fox you want to be around ?, Is it something I have done... shouldn't I have stroked your lovely fur before ?"
"Yes, if the boy stays, I am going", she finally began to answer before the liard would ask more.
"I do not know where I am going, but it will be as far from that human as possible. No, I am not hiding anyone, they are all gone as I have said before. You are an interesting group to travel with, and I was merely looking after the fox because she did not seem to be so annoyed at me. The only thing you did wrong, Ayesha, was bring that human here."
She paused, narrowing her eyes to glare down at the liard. The way she looked right now was far from the calm lioness that she had been before. Right now, she looked rather murderous.
"Was that all?" she asked with a chilly tone.

Pizeera lay there with a thoughtful look on his face and then spoke to NightFlame quietly.

Memkrias was't paying attention to the others, she had heard the bit about this weird monkey was a 'human' and understand anything. But the creature was seemingly saying some and she was listening intently. After a moment she burst into a fit giggles and collapsed over onto her back - her legs waving in the air as she giggled.

Night Flame turned her icy stare at Pizeera.
"As a matter of fact, yes, I am so ready to 'blame' that human. I have lived alone for a long time now, and going back to that will be no problem."
She turned, ignoring Memkrias' giggles as she walked past Ayesha, determined to get away from the group as quickly as possible.
"But to go back to 'my tree'..." she mumbled quietly as she walked. "No, that I will not do. I will not stay here when they are around."

Ayesha stared at Night Flame for a moment listening, and then when she moved away from Pizeera and Phrixus heading towards where the boy was still with Memkria, the liard jumped to her paws and ran and stood in front of Thomas, as she was scared that he was going to be attacked.
Standing there Ayesha growled slowly, she wasn't giving in this time, the boy was staying until he wanted to go somewhere else, he hadn't hurt anyone, if the others didn't want him to stay too, she would leave and have an adventure, just the two of them.

Phrixus continued to sit where he was, and he stared at the human. He seemed different than the ones he had heard about in the stories. This one seemed afraid, weak, and confused. His attention was drawn to that sharp silver object he carried, and he wondered what the human was going to do. Was he going to wait and kill them when they were asleep? Would he try his luck right now? Phrixus didn't know, but he wasn't going to wait and find out.
"I've heard humans are good at tracking," he said to Ayesha, "what if the others come looking for him when they realize he's gone and see us with him? They'll kill us... all of us. We need to get rid of it."

"You are NOT going to hurt him, he's done nothing wrong, why are you taking NightFlames side."
With her claws extended Ayesha looked around at them all, with small tears welling up, she blinked rapidly.
"Well then you have to hurt me first before you get to him !"

"No, Ayesha, I don't want to hurt him... and I don't want to hurt you. I promise I will not touch even a hair on his head, but he is just too dangerous to keep. Just take him back to where you found him. His pride, or clan, or what ever they call their groups, will find him and take him back. We can't put ourselves in danger just because you want a new friend."

Moving back Ayesha looked at Memkria and then moved back a little and lowered her head pushing into the back of the boy and making him come in front of Phrixus.
"Sniff him, touch him.. he wont hurt you."

Night Flame was glad that no one had followed her. Her usually calm expression was gone, replaced by a mixture of fury and a hint of sadness. Briefly she wondered if she should have followed her original pride when they had left. If she had, at least she would have been saved from meeting that human boy that Ayesha seemed to be so fond of.
Isha's ears twitched slightly and she lazily opened her eyes. She blinked, staring blankly at the river, not quite understanding how she had gotten there. The last thing she remembered was that Night Flame had been carrying her, so she must have fallen asleep at some point.
The fennec yawned, then suddenly jumped slightly when she heard the commotion in the group. She turned to watch what was going on with wide eyes. She didn't understand what was going on. Where was Night Flame? What was Memkrias laughing at so loudly? And why was Ayesha arguing with Phrixus?
Then suddenly, Ayesha moved, pushing forward a strange, hairless creature. Isha only partly heard what the liard was telling Phrixus. She slowly got up on her feet and quietly made her way towards this strange critter. It was bigger than her - not a surprise - but seemed smaller and more fragile than the big kitties of this strange group.
She stopped when she was just a few steps away from the hairless creature, looking up at it with wide, curious eyes. She sniffed, then blinked and frowned slightly. It smelt familiar. But why would it smell familiar when she had not seen another creature like this before?

Phrixus stared into his eyes. He could see that this human was somewhat confused, and he didn't seem threatening. He looked down in his hand where he still held that silver thing. It was really the only thing about the human that made him nervous.
He kept his claws sheathed and swiped at the humans hand, knocking it away. Phrixus then walked over to the silver thing and picked it up with his mouth and threw it away into the thick bushes.
"As long as he doesn't have that, then he can stay with us... for now."
He didn't think the human would be able to do too much harm, but he wasn't sure what the human was capable of. He would be keeping a close eye on him.
