Thomas stood there watching the lioness, the way she acted made him start to smile, he couldn't remember the last time he had actually done that, but she did look so funny lying on her back with her legs waving around, maybe she was 'special'.
Hearing growling from the others he turned in time to see them arguing by the looks, and then the liard that came and got him from the other side of the river, nudged him forward to stand in front of her, while he was 'inspected' by the black headed lion with icy blue eyes staring at him hard.
Trying not to cringe and step back into the liard when the male moved in closer, he thought he was going to be hit when a paw came up, but blinked quickly when his dagger was knocked from his hand and thrown away.
Biting down on his lower lip to stop himself from shouting out 'no', thomas stared at the lion and then lowered his head, moved past the feline and walked slowly to the bushes where he last saw his dagger fly into. Dropping to his knees Thomas frantically crawled along pushing away branches and leaves to find his only way of defending himself.
" If I can't find it, how can I catch things to eat and survive, I need my dagger.. I need my dagger."
Finally his fingers touched the cold steel of the blade and fastened around it, dragging it towards him over the damp ground, till he held it in his hand. Sighing he backed out of the bush, stood and turned to face them once again.
Moving slowly back past the lion, he stood besides the liard and lifted his eyes meeting his and then raised his dagger and pulled his cloak back, sliding it into the pouch he had made inside. Taking a breath he stood there, waiting to see what if any retaliation he would receive.

Isha watched curiously as Phrixus knocked the thin, silvery object from the strange creature's hand.
"As long as he doesn't have that, then he can stay with us... for now."
The fox lifted an eyebrow when the creature suddenly walked to the bushes. After some frantic crawling around, the creature returned - with the silvery object.
That was too much, and Isha couldn't help but laugh.
"Does that mean he's gonna leave now, huh, Phrixus?" she asked, giving the lion an amused smile.
But then she turned her attention back at the hairless creature. Her smile was replaced with a pondering expression. She still couldn't connect where she had smelt this creature's scent before.

Thomas was staring at Phrixus, his body filled with tension, when he heard a laugh of some sort ,l ooking past the lion, he saw a fox standing there.
Inhaling some breath, he realised it was the animal he had thrown a rock at, who had been standing on the other side of the river, all he had wanted to do was catch it's attention not actually hit the poor thing, and now here it was staring and sniffing at him.
Stepping back he once again found himself standing with the liard, unconsciously his left hand came up and he found himself resting it upon the small of her back, almost as if seeking reassurance for both of them.

Pizeera lay there watching all that was happening, it was nothing to do with him, he didn't care if the human stayed or went, but he wondered what Phrixus was going to do now.
Looking at Memkria lying on the ground being silly, bought a smile to his face, he wasn't sure if she was just dopey or it was her way of things, and also Night Flame had disapeared from sight, he was thinking whether he should go follow her to see what she was doing, but wasn't sure if she would like to see his face.

Phrixus was slightly amused by the frantic searching for the silver thing by the human, though he wasn't at all happy that he had gotten it back. He stared at the human again as it looked back at him. It seemed tense, and nervous.
"This human is weak and fearful," he stated, "I'm not sure that he has the courage to kill any of us, but that doesn't mean he won't."
He then turned his attention to Ayesha.
"He can stay for now, but we need to keep a close eye on him. He's not to be trusted."

Ayesha blinked rapidly at what he had said and then breathed out slowly, not realising she had been holding her breath waiting to see what Phrixus was going to do.
"Thank you Phrixus, I'm sure he will prove himself, and you couldn't have left him unarmed he needs to get food and protect himself as well, he obviously can't fught as good as we all can."
Looking at the others, they didn't seem to angry at the boy staying, but Night Flame had left and now Isha was sniffing at him.
"Isha do you have something stuck up your nose, you need help in removing ?"

Memkrias had stopped giggling and had turned right way up. She layed there watching the tension before it seemed to sort itself out. She grinned and goes "Hey, hey - I think this monkey thing is funny - before it told me the moon was bathing in trees while the sun splashed in the ground". Are these monkey human things 'special' or is it just this one?"

"Shesh, Ayesha", she said with a frown. "I'm trying to memorize this guy's scent so that I won't go on and accidentally bite off his fingers or something, and the first thing you do is fling insults at me."
She snorted.
"Keep your pet, Ayesha, at least that gets you off of my back!"
The fennec walked over to one of the nearby trees and laid down under it, glaring daggers at Ayesha. After a moment she got tired of that and turned her gaze at the river, putting her head down on her paws. It still bothered her that she couldn't remember why the hairless creature smelled so familiar. She sighed and pushed the thought away, certain that she would remember with time.
Another thought came to her then, and her expression became confused. Night Flame had brought her back to the group, and apparently made sure she was comfortable and all... But the lioness was nowhere in sight. It was a shame, Isha would have wanted to thank her for looking after her like that.

Phrixus rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, we'll see about that."
He turned and moved away from Ayesha and the human. He didn't like that fact that they would have a human with them now, but he didn't seem like he could do much harm.

Sighing, Ayesha looked at Memkria, Phrixus and Pizeera
"Why is it I can do nothing good in her eyes, I was trying to see if she was ok, nothing else."
Nudging the boy in front of her, the liard slowly made her way over to where the fox was now lying in the shade of some trees and stood before her.
"Here he is for you to sniff, if your nose is unblocked and working fine again, and please don't hurt him."
Retreating back, Ayesha moved towards where she had seen Night Flame go and at the same time saw Phrixus move away from where they had been standing, now she had to try and find the lioness whose greyish purple fur intrigued her so much, to try and make amends for some reason that Ayesha didn't know about, but enough she didn't want to travel with them anymore.

As Pizeera saw Ayesha move towards where he too last saw NightFlame go, he jumped to his feet and followed after her.
"Wait up Ayesha, you can't go far, in case the boy needs you, you bought him here you have to look after him, can't just leave him alone with Isha, you'll come back at the boy will be missing body parts."

Isha looked rather shocked when Ayesha nudged the hairless creature in front of her.
"Here he is for you to sniff, if your nose is unblocked and working fine again, and please don't hurt him."
The fox blinked, her gaze shifting between Ayesha and the creature. She was tempted to say that there was nothing wrong with her nose, but Ayesha already moved away. And so, the only thing she could do was stare up at this.. this... strange thing.
"Wait up Ayesha, you can't go far, in case the boy needs you, you bought him here you have to look after him, can't just leave him alone with Isha, you'll come back at the boy will be missing body parts."
The fennec's temper flared and she turned to glare daggers at Pizeera.
"Oi!" she snapped. "I ain't gonna chew off body parts of him! And no one else had better either, or they're find their body parts missing! I wanna know why he smells so familiar, and I can't do that if he's dead!"
Nigth Flame had walked into the forest, following the path she and Isha had taken earlier when the fox had ran away from the group. She was walking slowly, almost hesitantly, as if she didn't really want to go. But still, she didn't feel like going back to the group either, not with the human there.
She sighed and hopped on a fallen tree. She laid down there, her head resting on her crossed paws. She closed her eyes, partly wishing that she could just fall asleep and forget everything. Too bad for her that sleep was evading her grasp.

Phrixus sat there watching the human for a while. He still seemed at bit nervous and confused about what was going on.
"So, what do we do now?" He asked.

Memkrias was letting the others just talk about the human monkey thing... but her ears pricked up at Pizeera's words, and a grin spread on her face. She suddenly pounced long, landing in front of Pizeera with a mischivious grin looking him straight in the eyes. "I knew it! You're a coconut! Hard and crunchy on the outside, all gooey and soft inside!" She waited there expectantly, waiting for his reaction to her figuring him out so smartly.

Pizeeera was just about to move to follow the path Night Flame took, when the lioness jumped at him, nearly knocking him over. Holding himself still he looked at her grinning at him.
"I knew it! You're a coconut! Hard and crunchy on the outside, all gooey and soft inside"
Staring at her, the lion wasn't sure what to do or say, she spoke some weird things. Bringing up a paw he tapped her gently on the side of her head.
"Hello Memkria.. are you in there, anyone home ?"
Knowing there was something 'special' about her, he smiled so he wasn't coming across as mean and moved back to give hmself some space.
"I'm going to see where NightFlame went too, you can come along I guess unless you want to sniff the human boy too ?"

Memkrias blinked at his response, it was't exactly what she had expected... surely he had understood her analogy, she sighed - this male was so hard to understand.. where was his sense of play?
Then he asked if she would go with him or sniff the human - she considered this moment. Then she replied "Well sniffing not really my thing... so sure! I'll go with you!" She smiled at him.

Staring at her a bit longer, he wasn't sure now that he should have asked her to go along with him.
' oh well, already done, she better not do anything silly, don't want to have to carry her back or anything'.
Raising his head his nose sniffed in the scents around them and he started moving forward slowly, he wasn't sure how far ahead NightFlame had gone, so didn't want to surprise her any, he didn't kow what mood the female would be in, when she left the group she wasn't too happy at all.
"Come on Memkria, don't fall behind we don't want to loose you"

"I don't know how to reword what I say so that it all comes out fancy, I just say what I say.. and how come none of you others take offence at anything ,just the fox?"
Ayesha watched the boy stand in front of Isha still not moving, not knowing what to do. She wanted to leave him with the fox, but she was uncertain what would happen when it was figured out why his scent seemed familiar.
"So, what do we do now?"
Moving her gaze towards Phrixus, she just shrugged for a moment till her tummy gurgled loud for all to hear.
Grinnng back at the lion she repeated what he just uttered.
"So, what do we do now?"

Thomas stood there, not really knowing what to do, especially when the liard walked away after pushing him in front of the fox.
Looking down at the fennec he watched as her nose twitched as it pointed at him, she had this angry look on her face and he was tempted to reach for his knife. Clenching his fist at his side to stop himself, Thomas made the decision, right or wrong to lower himself to the ground in front of it.
Folding his legs, Thomas sat before her on the dry earth and spread his palms outwards . He knew she was the one he had hit when he had thrown that rock, unintentionally, but still it had done her some damage and now it was upto the fox when she finally recognised his scent.

Isha watched curiously as the hairless creature sat down in front of her. She watched his movements curiously, wondering what he was up to. When he did nothing else than watch her, however, she relaxed slightly and leaned a bit closer to one of his hands, sniffing it tentatively.
She froze, her eyes widening in surprise as her mouth opened in a silent gasp. She knew now why the scent was faimilar. Question was, what was she going to do about it?
Startled, the fox shrunk back from the hairless creature, her wide eyes looking up at him. He had thrown that rock on her head, she was certain of it. Why was he sitting there so calmly now? Was he waiting for a moment to catch her offguard? Or had it been a simple mistake from his part? If so, was he expecting her to lash out at him in fury like she had lashed with her words when the rock had hit her head.
The fox blinked, then forced herself to relax. She wasn't alone with this creature. While she had noticed that Ayesha, Pizeera and Memkrias seemed eager to go after Night Flame, at least Phrixus was still there, right? She glanced at his direction quickly, making sure he indeed was there.
"Um, sooooo...." Isha said tentatively.
"Anyone know what to call this guy? I don't really wanna go around calling it 'the hairless one' all the time, it sounds kinda.... stupid."

Thomas knew as soon as she registered that it was his scent that was all over the rock and it now matched his hands as she scampered back from him and her eyes grew wider and she gasped.
Not moving at all, he then slowly bought up his hand and bought it towards Isha and carefully stroked the top of her head in a caressing manner and then returned it to rest on his knee and waited to see what would happen next.
