Naheera stepped back from the small lioness after getting a nod of her head in reply, looked around and sat down on the ground.
" Umm...ummm.. Sera ! should we all just go along as well and see that no one gets into trouble ?. I'm thinking now that we have come over to this side, we may as well keep moving and see what there is to see... unless of course you girls just want to rest and wait for your meal... that is, if there will be anything"
Turning to the one, the cheetah called Sera, Naheera gave her a look over, seeing a strength there she wished she had, these days she couldn't be bothered doing much, chasing after her meal was only if she realy had to.
" You all go ahead if you want to, I'm quite happy just lying here".

Sera sighed, glancing at where Sefu and Karensha had disappeared. She knew Jabari was right, especially when considering what they all had already gone through in one day. If the day could get any weirder, Sera was fairly certain it would.
Still, the cheelion didn't feel particularly keen on following the duo. As she had mentioned earlier, Karensha wasn't very fond to have her around. The thought of just leaving altogether crossed her mind, but she quickly pushed that aside. The others were fairly nice, and she didn't feel like returning to her solitary life quite so soon after finding a group that - mostly - accepted her.
"You all go ahead if you want to, I'm quite happy just lying here".
"Jabari is right", Sera said hesitantly. "It might be wiser to just stay together."
She cringed slightly as she took her first steps at following Sefu and Karensha, glancing back to see if the others would follow or not. Meri looked back at her hesitantly, glancing between Naheera and Jabari to see if they would start moving too or not. If they did, she would go too.

Naheera was about to lie back on the ground and carry on with her nap that she had been enjoying before they all had turned up disturbing her.
Watching the cheetah and cheelion look at each other strangely as well as saying it was wiser to stay together, Naheera stopped, it looked like something was a bit suss. Looking back towards the river where they had come from she shook her head and again squinted at the small lioness, she was behaving strangely as well, having second thoughts now about being alone, she stood there, now looking towards where Sefu and the leopard had gone.
"well guess that question has been answered, let's go "

Karensha looked quickly behind to see that Sefu had indeed followed, her ears twitching as she carried on walking hearing him trailing along. Slowing down a little more till the male was finally beside her, she kept walking, small branches from bushes folding back as they passed.
Not even looking at Sefu, Karensha walked on in silence, she wasn't sure what to say to him anyway, small talk was never one of her strong points. Moving a little closer as they rounded a small bend where the track was narrower, she felt the warmth from his fur rub against her,startling her, making her jump away. Shaking her head she let the fur of her purple tuft flow around her face, hiding her expression, while licking her lips wetting her now dry lips.
"I think we should keep going a little, away from from the river.By now any thing we're after will have probably moved under the trees or headed where shade may be."
Hearing no reply, Karensha tilted her head slightly, angling so she could look at Sefu's face.

Jabari turned towards Sera grinning,
"I'm right ?, well that makes a change I suppose."
Turning he walked behind the 3 females staring back towards the river, pausing he studied the current moving faster than usual.
"For some reason things aren't behaving normal as they usually do, something is building up, but I'm not quite sure what it is yet, perhaps we had better catch up to Karensha and Sefu, play it safe for now".
Once more Jabari moved but kept himself at the back, that way nothing could sneak up on them and seeing as he was the biggest of them all, anything would have to get thru him first.
Shaking his head as if to clear this thoughts, his eyes met Sera's. He glanced quickly at Meri and then back to Sera, his head giving her a small nod as if to say 'they needed to keep an eye out for lioness', then stood waiting for them to move.

Sefu continued following Karensha as she slowed down and ended up walking next to him. He didn't know what to say to her and he could tell that she didn't have much to say either. Th next thing he knew, she suddenly jumped away which just left him confused.
"I think we should keep going a little, away from from the river.By now any thing we're after will have probably moved under the trees or headed where shade may be."
Sefu didn't respond as he was just a bit awestruck by Karensha's reaction. It wasn't until he saw the leopard look back at him that he finally responded to her.
"I guess you are probably right, hopefully we find something soon."
Sefu looked back forward, trying to open his left eye so he could atleast have depth perception when hunting. Only being able to barely open slightly, everything was just a blur when looking through it. He just gave up on it and let out a slight groan before just continuing on.
"You will probably have an easier time spotting anything compared to me, so you should probably keep your eyes forwards and not staring at me." Sefu said with a bit of sarcasm, just trying to embarrass Karensha a bit.

"Nice way of sounding ominous, Jabari", Sera remarked as she trailed after Karensha and Sefu, though she was sporting a small frown on her face. Jabari was right, again. Things didn't feel normal at all, if one just stopped to think about it.
Shaking her head she glanced back at the cheetah, catching the glance she sent her way. She too glanced at Meri, and nodded back at Jabari. Meri was one of those things not behaving normally, even if it didn't have anything to do with what Jabari had just said. But as the white lioness slowly followed the cheelion, Sera knew she would keep a close eye on her, just in case.

Naheera slowly moved forward with the others. Her mouth opened wide letting out a yawn the same time her tummy started rumbling.
"I hope those two know what they're doing, I'm starved."
Looking back over her shoulder, she watched the cheetah behind them, looking around carefully, and then turned to the cheelion.
"Is someone else meant to be joining us or does he always look like he does expecting something to jump out of the bushes ?"

Just as Karensha started to turn towards Sefu to see why he was so quiet, she heard his groan.Whipping her head the rest of the way as fast as she could, she moved in front of him as well to check, making him come to a stop. About to query how he was feeling she heard his words.
"You will probably have an easier time spotting anything compared to me, so you should probably keep your eyes forwards and not staring at me."
Her mouth fell open as she just stared at him, not sure which eye to look at seeing as one was only working properly the other swollen shut.
" STARING AT YOU ?"
Karensha blinked a few times, as she found herself unconsciously unsheathing her front claws and stepped in closer till her nose wasn't quite touching his. Lowering her voice to a quiet firm tone, she bought up a paw and tapped him on the side of his head.
"I would choose your words wisely from now on if I were you, or it might be both eyes you can't see out of soon and then your pretty little lioness back there, mighten find you as appealing as she seems to do."
About to make her tap harder against the side of his head,she changed her mind and instead stroked her paw down one side and under his chin, giving a brief scratch, then grinned at him before stepping back.
"there...consider yourself warned."
Dropping her paw back to the dusty ground, Karensha shuffled away from Sefu and started to move on,at the same time left him with some parting words.
"Ooh.. and Sefu.. I never stare.. If I want something I ask or just go ahead and take it.. just remember that if you will."
With her tail swishing around,and her head held high Karensha carried on, quietly muttering under her breath
'geez Karensha.. if i want something I ask or take.. oh pleasssse'

Sera chuckled lightly when Naheera complained about her hunger. She swallowed a snide remark just in time, choosing not to mention that Naheera could have gone with the two and lend a hand in catching something.
"Is someone else meant to be joining us or does he always look like he does expecting something to jump out of the bushes ?"
The cheelion suddenly remembered that Naheera was unaware of their rather... "unique" travelling companion, and the chuckle that escaped her now was much louder. "Who knows..."
She glanced back at Naheera with a wide, amused grin. "What's your opinion on gigantic snakes?"

Naheera watched the cheelion as she started to laugh out loud, thinking to herself, that the female might be 'special'in some way. She was about to start walking faster when she heard the words.
"What's your opinion on gigantic snakes?"
Grinning at her now, Naheera tossed her head
" yeah, yeah.. looks like we found another story teller, first Sefu and now you, what a circus we have."
Before turning away the lioness stared at the cheetah giving a smirk.
"Ya better move it before ya loose it, ya know, there's a GIGANTIC SNAKE behind you."

Sefu couldn't help but chuckle when he saw the reaction he got out of Karensha. He couldn't tell if she was just easily annoyed or if he was just good at annoying her. When she got done with her little lecture and started walking off, he just followed behind her and didn't hear her mumble something.
"So what is your reasoning for staying with this little group?" Sefu asked the leopard, "It seems like most of them can't stand each other so it just seems weird to me."

Jabari lifted his head up and turned towards Naheera to hear her words.

Stifling a grin, the cheetah raised his voice a little.
"you know Naheera, the gigantic snake and myself have already.... shall we say.. met, and I hate to tell you this, but when SHE eats, the favourite delicacy seems to be lionesses with brown fur, green eyes, and especially ones with green markings on their legs. So.. you think we should hurry it along a bit ?"
Jabari looked over to Meri and Sera and gave them a wink before moving in closer behind the females.

Karensha flicked her fur away from her eyes again, sometimes it just plain annoyed her and other times she used it to her advantage, but now she had clear vision all around her, as she didn't trust anything much anymore and she wasn't about to be taken aback by any unwelcome surprises.

Gathering her thoughts when she realised Sefu was talking to her, she blinked and thought about what to give him as an answer. He hadn't been party to the conversations she had had with Basilisk even though the lion had helped take down the male that had come hunting for her. Licking her lips, Karensha decided on a version that wasn't so much lies but one of omitting several important facts.
" I was going to move on as I'm used to being on my own,can't even remember where I came from and those back wherever it was, but the small lioness Meri, seems she needed a little looking after,and I haven't got anything better to do, so here I am... for now at least."
Satisfied she had stalled him for now, Karensha lifted her nose to the breeze, a grin spreading over her face as she picked up speed.
"Come on Sefu , I think I can smell lunch ."

Meri made no attempt at all to hide her giggle when she heard Jabari reply to Naheera. Sera glanced at the white lioness with surprise, having not expected her to make any kind of noise any time soon. Her surprise vanished quickly though, and she grinned slightly when she caught Jabari's wink.
"Come on, lets go. With any luck Karensha and Sefu have already caught something. You can eat your full then Naheera."

Naheera stopped suddenly when she heard the cheetah's words, then slowly she turned and looked over everyone. They were all staring at her with funny looks on their faces. Blinking a few times she then grinned and flicked her head back and carried on.
"You guys, what a bunch of kidders" she called out.

Sefu just listened as Karensha explained why she was with the group. The reasoning for her staying sounded reasonable enough but it seemed she was hiding something to him. He didn't bother asking more about her reasons for staying since he just figured it would be to bothersome to know.
"Come on Sefu , I think I can smell lunch ."
Raising his nose up, Sefu tried to smell what Karensha was going towards to. His sense of smell wasn't too good and he couldn't really smell anything so he just picked up his speed along with the leopard.

Karensha moved faster, every now and then glancing at the lion beside her. He kept sniffing at the air but then would look around as though expecting someone, and she caught herself once or twice following his gaze.
Stopping suddenly, Karensha put herself in front of Sefu, as he bumped her and then stopped himself.
"You're behaving more oddly than usual..."
Standing there she looked him over quickly and then peered closer to his face, looking from one of his eyes to the other. Holding up a paw she waved them back and forth watching to see if he followed, and then when satisfied his vision seemed ok pulled her face back from his.
" So.... what's the matter, can't hear, can't smell, afraid ...what ? "

Out of nowhere there suddenly was a "Keeya hala nou!" as this blur hit Karensha smack in the side, somersaulting through the air before apparently gliding along ground on it's face.
A small cloud of dust drifted about the area where the impact had happened.
Slowly the cloud of dust disappeared and there on the ground in a ungainly position - flat on ground with 4 legs splayed out in the 4 directions was a young gazelle.

Sefu was confused when Karensha was testing his vision. His one eye followed her paw fine until she stopped and asked him a question.
" So.... what's the matter, can't hear, can't smell, afraid ...what ? "
He was about to give an answer until he heard a random yell and a blur smack into the side of Karensha. He didn't know what hit the leopard but had to laugh after seeing the that something got the best of her.
"Are you alright?" Sefu asked Karensha while she was still on he ground. Looking over to where the dust was starting to clear, the lion had to laugh again seeing it was a gazelle that took down Karensha. "I don't think the prey is supposed to take down the hunter, right Karensha?"
