Basilisk had remained quiet as Jabari came into the cave and got the cub. Sera had answered his question, so there wasn't anything else to say.
It was just the three of them in the cave now, and Basilisk was at a loss as to what to do, and it didn't seem like Meri was ready to talk yet.
"So, what should we do now?"

As Jabari turned and made his way away from the cave, he felt the cubs small claws dig in a little, getting a better grip as he moved up his neck higher as well. Pausing for a moment, the cheetah looked back at the cave, he wasn't sure if the snake was going to stay put or come along with him, but for now he couldn't see her at all so on he moved.
Slowly Jabari walked, his nose easily picking up karenshas scent as he followed her trail, this hour of the morning things were still peaceful and still alot were resting, it was a good day to be alive he thought. Tilting his head up a little he let the suns rays warm his face, even a smile passed over his muzzle, pulling tight on his scars. Remembering the cub when he felt his skin being pulled, Jabari spoke quietly to the young cub.
"Maji you need to stay where you are, things out here may look peaceful, but there's always something looking out for a quick bite to eat, and we don't want anything happenng to you, we'll come across Karensha soon, just be patient."

When Jabari tilted his head back, Maji noticed the scars on his face and stepped back further down on Jabaris back. Sometimes Maji forgot that Jabari had the scars. For one, the cheetah was nicer than most other cats maji had come into contact with. And also, Maji wasn't used to looking at others faces. He was always too shy to look directly into others eyes or much less, even look away from the ground. That is, until Karensha came around. She was the first one in a long time who was bigger than him and didnt hurt him.
"Maji you need to stay where you are, things out here may look peaceful, but there's always something looking out for a quick bite to eat, and we don't want anything happenng to you, we'll come across Karensha soon, just be patient."
Majis hear beat harder a couple times and he looked around at the though of something being out there looking at him hungrily. But then he remembered who he was with and that comforted him. The small cub crouched down and held on as they padded along.

"So, what should we do now?"
Sera sighed with a shrug, glancing at Meri once again. The lioness still didn't seem like wanting to talk, and Sera began to think that they'd need to do something to snap her out of her state.
The cheelion tilted her head slightly, thinking.
"I'm thirsty", she suddenly said, eyeing Meri thoughtfully. "Meri...? Would you want a drink as well?"
The white lioness blinked her eyes at the mentioning of her name and turned to stare at Sera. She was motionless for a moment, then gave a small nod and rose to her feet. Sera grinned slightly as she walked after the lioness. She glanced at Basilisk and silently asked if he'd come with them.

"I'm thirsty. Meri...? Would you want a drink as well?"
Meri nodded and Basilisk was slightly surprised that Meri wanted to go get a drink, but he was glad that she did. It seemed like she was calming down a little.
He caught a glance from Sera asking him if he wanted to come. He had nothing else to do so he quickly caught up to them and followed behind.

"You wanna have some fun ? "
Sefu just looked at Karensha with a questioning look wondering what got her so excited. Leaning to see around her, Sefu saw that there were a few crocodiles up ahead. He just shook his head slowly with a grin on his face.
"I don't know what exactly you have planned, but I guess I'm up for whatever it is."

Karensha was grining at Sefu waiting for his reply, she hadn't done this in a while and was hoping she hadn't lost her touch.
"I don't know what exactly you have planned, but I guess I'm up for whatever it is."
Inclining her head in a slight nod at the lion, Karensha turned away from him and moved forward quietly watching where her paws were being placed, the less noise that the crocs could hear the better. Finally she stopped, arched her back stretching her body and then once again, looked at Sefu.
"It's all in the element of surprise and ...you got to be quick, no second guessing yourself..ok , just do it?"
Turning back towards the water and where the creatures were basking in the morning rays, Karensha dug in her paws and took off, with her lilac fur tuft standing on end the air tossing it about. As she got close to the first crocodile, she lept from the sandy soil, landed on it's back and then launched herself off onto the next one repeating the same thing with the five of them, till there were no more and she vaulted onto land once more and whirled around panting slightly, her tongue licking around her lips. Staring at Sefu she nodded and stood her ground waiting.

Kabechet pulled deeper into the shadows as the three felines passed her. She was well aware that Meri didn't like seeing her, and thus she thought it better to stay out of sight. She wasn't certain whether or not the two other felines noticed her, but at least Sera didn't give any visible signal of that. When she was certain that all three were outside the cave she slowly slithered into the sunlight and curled up on one of the nearby rocks, intending to take full advantage of her moment of peace.
Sera kept a close eye on Meri as she led them to the waterhole, trying to see whether or not the lioness would begin to panic again. When nothing happened and the lioness calmly bent down for a drink, Sera let out a relieved sigh. Instead of heading for the water herself, though, she stayed back and slightly further away from the lioness and waited for Basilisk to arrive.
"She seems to be getting back to normal", the cheelion commented quietly. "It might be safe to try talking with her soon."

Jabari felt the cub hold on more firmly after he spoke his words, it was good the cub was a careful listener, it might save himself some grief later on.
Moving on, the cheetah ducked under some low overhanging branches and walked around others that had fallen until he came to the waters edge. Stopping himself he looked out and over the wetlands taking in all the slendour of what the morning had bought forth. Turning back to his right he thought he saw the rear end of the lion that had walked off with Karensha, but there was no sight of her. Back tracking away from the water, Jabari slowly walked in the direction of where he could see patches of colour beakoning to him from between small shrubs, wondering what was happening and where was the snow leopard in all of this.

When Jabari stopped at the water at the edge of the foliage, maji looked out at everything. The crickets chirped and the wind gently blew the grass in waves. The sun reflected off the perfectly still water.
Jabari turned back and Maji couldn't help but turn around and watch as the calm scene disappeared when they went back into the trees and shrubs. Maji was hopeful that they were going to find Karensha so he turned back around and peeked his head over Jabaris to see where they were going. Every once in a while, he had to duck his head down to miss the occasional low hanging branch.

Kabechet had intended to fully enjoy the sunshine until the felines would return, but the scent she caught in the air caused her to frown. With narrowed eyes she lifted her head, flicking her tongue in and out for a moment before she hissed in frustration and bolted down from the rock. She slithered as fast as she could through the field of grass that separated her from the waterhole where Sera, Meri and Basilisk were.
The cobra almost froze when she arrived at the waterhole, but managed to keep herself moving. Without a word she dashed past Sera and Basilisk and headed towards Meri. She was well aware that it might look like she was attacking the lioness, but she had no time to circle around her and thus she slithered straight into the water between the lioness' feet.
Sera hadn't heard a reply from Basilisk when she heard a rustle behind her. She turned to look and saw Kabechet slither past them in a hurry, and head straight towards Meri. She had no time to react when Meri suddenly shrieked and jerked herself away from the cobra that had slithered into the water between the lioness' feet.
"Meri!" Sera was quickly beside the shocked lioness, trying to see if she was hurt. "Meri? You ok?"
The lioness nodded while she stared at the spot in the water where Kabechet had disappeared. A moment after the cobra poked her head above the water's surface just enough for her to be able to look around.
"What was that about?" Sera yelled at the cobra, clearly angry at how Kabechet had scared Meri.
The snake merely blinked her eyes once before she lifted her head completely above the water. Sera blinked in surprise when she saw that Kabechet was holding another snake in her mouth, and that though the snake was still twitching slightly, it was clearly close to death.

Sefu just watched as Karensha hopped from one crocodile to another. He knew that he wasn't going to look as graceful as Karensha was, but he should be able to do it. Crouching down, Sefu hopped onto the first crocodile's back and jumped as soon as it started to move. Continuing the process, he made it to the end where the leopard was waiting. He stumbled a bit on the final jump but other then that, he got through the crocs without too much effort.
"I hope that didn't look too bad," Sefu said before sitting down, "but then again, I'm not much of an acrobat."

Karensha stood there watching Sefu, almost holding her breath and afraid to blink. Was he going to make it in one piece or was she going to have to charge the beasts so he could get away safely.
omygosh, he's stumbling he's going to sli.. well what do you know, he made it'
Moving closer to him, Karensha laughed, and not realising what she was doing bought up a paw and rubbed his cheek quickly, then let it drop to the ground . "You did it Sefu.. you actually.. just did it."
Laughing out loud, the leopard turned away from him and surveyed everything in front of her, her head turning from left to right, her fur flying around her head. "I think today is going to be a good day Sefu... oh and don't worry your acrobatic skills will only improve if you come on walks with me."
Turning back to face the lion, her eyes flashed with happiness "so... you think we should keep going.. just to check that everything is safe of course.?"
Stopping her talk, karensha looked over sefu's head, she could see movement beyond and the scent was familiar. Blinking slowly she saw between the bushes the cheetah with Maji standing upright on his back. "looks like we have company"

Maji was pleasantly surprised to see karensha was just beyond the bushes and trees. He began pattering his paws back and forth on Jabaris back impatiently. Maji got that odd feeling like something was going to get him from behind like everyone does sometimes when safety is just within sight. Of course there wasn't really anything behind him. The cubs skittish nature just made him constantly paranoid.
Maji shook his hind quarters as he aimed for the ground and jumped down with a thump. The cub landed on his stomach which knocked the air out of him. With litte high pitched coughs and holding back tears, maji walked towards karensha. But he didn't make it four steps before he tripped over a rock. He laid there frustrated and hurt while a tear finally broke the barrier and slid down his cheek as he let out a single barely audible whimper.

Posting for Blaq~
Basilisk waited until Sera and Meri had passed him and then he turned and followed the females, his nose twitching a little as he caught the snakes scent, it seemed she was hiding in the shdaows of the cave for now. Not looking in that direction, Basilisk moved out into the sunshine blinking rapidly as the rays hit his face warming him.
Nearing the waterhole the lion slowed down as he saw the cheelion waiting for him. "She seems to be getting back to normal, it might be safe to try talking with her soon."
All Basilisk had time to do was nod his head in return, before the snake went past them at speed heading straight for Meri. Digging in his paws Basilisk growled and pushed himself forward trying to get to the small lioness, they had started to get lax, and now she was going to be attacked. Coming to a halt beside Meri, Basilisk wasn't sure what was happening, she hadn't been attacked as Kabechet had headed straight into the water. Staring , it soon started to ripple as the snakes head surfaced and between it's jaws, was another deadly reptile.
" Looks like the snake just saved Meri, I wonder if that changes anything around here now ?"

Jabari stopped in his tracks when he saw Sefu and Karensha, he wasn't sure what they had been upto but for some reason he knew they had, going by the looks on their faces. Before he could say anything he felt the cub jump from his back and land ungraciously in a little pile on the hard ground. About to help him up the cheetah stayed where he was so the cub had to look after himself, it would do him no good if everyone pandered to him all the time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karensha stood there blinking after she had announced to Sefu that they weren't alone any more, in one way she wanted to sigh that they couldn't continue on their morning walk and yet another part of her tugged at seeing the cub.
Walking around the lion she made her way over to Jabari, at the same time watching as Maji took a tumble. Finally she reached the cub just as he went sprawling over a rock in his way and her heart missed a beat as he whimpered and a tear flowed down his cheek.
With her legs sliding forward Karensha folded herself down on the ground beside Maji and drew him into and against her chest, wrapping her paws around him holding him close, while her cheek rubbed back and forth over the crown of his head.
"Maji, you should have waited for Jabari to help you off, he has very long legs and it was a long way to jump, but you nearly made it, next time you'll do much better."
Looking over to Sefu she watched as he just stood there, seemingly in his own little world, as she wondered what was going on in his mind.
unt"so... you think we should keep going.. just to check that everything is safe of course.?"
Sefu was about to reply to Karensha's until she brought up that there were others around. He didn't know who it was until he looked over to see that it was the cheetah and cub.
He just watched as the cub made his way over to Karensha while still getting himself hurt. It seemed like the cub wasn't the most agile and would be an easy meal if left alone with other animals. luckily for the cub though, it found someone willing enough to look after him.
Sefu kept watching when Karensha went over to the cub since he didn't really want to go over to where the cub or cheetah were at. He also didn't want to say anything until he saw that Karensha was looking at him.
"I guess we should probably start heading back."
"I guess we should probably start heading back."
Karensha blinked at his words, even though the cub and Jabari were now there as well, she was a bit disapointed, she would have liked to have done some more exploring. Sefu in his own quiet way was actually good to be around and she wondered how much he would have been keen to do while they were out here.
"I suppose we should be getting back, I'm not sure it was the wisest thing to do leaving Kabechet alone with the others, but then again she wouldn't have been so stupid to come up against Basilisk and Sera."
Looking over at the cheetah who hadn't uttered anything, but was just surveying the area, Karensha turned back to the lion once more giving him a shy smile.
"Thankyou Sefu for the company.. I hope I get the chance again to test out your agility."
Karenshas comforting touch seemed to make the pain flee from him quicker. Her encouraging words only made it all the more quick.
"Maji, you should have waited for Jabari to help you off, he has very long legs and it was a long way to jump, but you nearly made it, next time you'll do much better."
Maji looked down away from her as if to say 'No, I don't think Ill ever get it.'
Once again, Karensha started talking to the other adults. He didn't really care much about what they were saying. His attention span wasn't very big so he just began looking around at random things. Suddenly, Majis eyes caught some movement. The leaves under a bush were rustling. The cubs ears perked up as he escaped Karenshas embrace. He padded on over to the bush quickly. As soon as he got within inches of the bush, a lizard darted out from under it and into another bush.
Maji didn't even stop for a moment. As soon as the lizard came out, the cub spun around, paws fumbling and slipping as he ran toward Karensha again. Once he was back in her arms, he poked his head up, one ear up and the other flat against his head, as he stared at the bush.
"Looks like the snake just saved Meri, I wonder if that changes anything around here now?"
Sera shook her head, her still slightly furious gaze locked on the cobra. "I suppose we'll see soon enough. Dunno what it is with these two, but Karensha seems to dislike Kabechet quite a bit."
Sera glanced at Meri, nudging the lioness to gain her attention. Surprisingly enough Meri responded right away and turned to look at Sera in puzzlement. The cheelion thought this was good. At least Meri hadn't gone into frozen shock again.
Sera glanced down at the black cobra who had finally slithered out of the water and dropped the dead snake right there on the shore. Kabechet noticed the look and turned to look up at the three felines.
"If you do not mind it would be besst if we joined the otherss", the cobra said, pointing then down at the dead snake with her head. "They need to know of thesse intruderss."
With that said the snake flicked her tongue out, took direction based on the scents Jabari had left on the ground and began to follow the cheetah to the rest of the group. Sera glanced at Meri and Basilisk.
"Well then", she said and began to follow the cobra. "Shall we?"
