Karensha stood there, her lips tightening in anger at his words, as she felt her claws clench and unclench.
"Fine, I'll stay out of your way, but I'm not going to just sit here and wait until you get back. I didn't come this far just to have you say "wait here". If we come across someone you know, then I'll make myself disappear."
She waited until he got nearly to the top of the ridge and then bounded after him, coming to stand in front of him blocking his way, her lilac fur brushing against his dreds. " I can see, you are you own person and don't like being told what to do, and I didn't expect you to wait back down there twiddling your thumbs, but I do expect.. or should I say hope you use your brains, which I'm sure there must be some in that head of yours,despite all those curls. If it is Naheem I have to handle him my own way, just watch your back.. thats all."
This time Karensha got to the top before the lion and sank to her stomach to look over, a small gasp passed her lips at what she saw.She had hoped against all hope it wasn't going to be him, but there he was, drinking from a small waterhole, still some distance away, but the colour of his fur, all white, made him stand out amongst all others. Sliding back down a little, she wasn't yet ready to be seen, she thought it would easy, just to bring into play what she had been taught, but now seeing him there in person it just left a sickly taste in her mouth, her head dropped and any emotion on her face was well hidden by that fine purple fur.

"I'm not inexperienced with this sort of thing. I appreciate your concern, but I've been alone a long time and I know how to handle myself. Don't worry so much."
Basilisk sat down as Karensha got to the top of the ridge. He heard her let out a small gasp, so he quickly got up to see what she was looking at. He saw someone of all white fur drinking from the small water hole.
"That must be this Naheem she's been talking about." He thought to himself.
Basilisk slid back down so he was right next to Karnesha. He looked over and saw that her fur had fallen over her face, hiding any emotions her face was showing, but he didn't need to see her face to know that she wasn't happy about finding Naheem.
"I'll stay here and out of your way just like you asked, but I'll be watching. If I see that things aren't going the way we want them to, then I'm going to come over."

Laying there, her heart beating faster while she tried to calm herself down, it was distasteful what she had to do, but now it was either she lived or he lived, if she didn't obey and agree to go back with Naheem, Karensha knew what her options would be, and there wasn't alot of them.
Bringing up her head,her mouth opened slightly blowing at the fur lifting it away from her upper face and she looked at the lion standing there close beside her, listening to his slowly spoken words. "I'll stay here and out of your way just like you asked, but I'll be watching. If I see that things aren't going the way we want them to, then I'm going to come over."
"Basilisk... this isn't going to be easy and quick..ok, just don't judge me.. If I want or need you ,you'll hear me shout out your name, otherwise stay away." Moving away from him, she looked back as he stood there her mind talking to him. Look after Maji for me

Basilisk let out a sigh as Karensha spoke.
"Basilisk... this isn't going to be easy and quick..ok, just don't judge me.. If I want or need you ,you'll hear me shout out your name, otherwise stay away."
"Fine." He replied, realizing that was probably as good as he'd get from her.
They exchanged a final glance at each other before Karensha walked towards Naheem. He pulled back his dreads as he watched her walk away, and thought about how much easier this would be if the two of them confronted Naheem instead of just Karensha. With her alone there was a bigger chance of her getting hurt, or worse, depending on how good a fighter Naheem was. With both of them they could just finish him off quickly and start making their way back, but Karensha asked him to stay back, so he just sat where he was and continued to watch, making sure he stayed out of view.

(I have been given permission to rp Naheem.)
With a satisfied gulp, Naheem tilted his head back in a somewhat complacent way as he swallowed the last bit of water. Full of energy and ready to take on the world, the white furred lion turned to pace around and decide his next direction.
Today was one of those days that Naheem just had the urge to kill something. It didn't matter what. Just the satisfaction of blood running down his claws and the feel of his teeth sinking into flesh while the life of whatever it was he was assailing drifted away. Sometimes the essence was drained from his victim slowly and other times, it was quick. It didn't matter to him how they went, weather slowly or quickly. He enjoyed either way. Sometimes he kept track of how long the creature wailed in pain and suffering, hearing its cries like music to his ears as the warmth retreated out of their body. And other times, he tried to annihilate his victim as quickly as possible, wondering if the creature felt anything or even knew it had been attacked at all before it was too late. Every once in a while, he decided to try different ways of killing things in the most grotesque ways. It fulfilled his inner ego of being huge and strong by mutilating a hare or a gazelle in horrid ways.
Naheem grinned, baring his teeth and growled a satisfied growl from the thought of taking somethings life. To him, this was fun and it never got old. ________________________________________________________________________________
Maji scooted over on the rock as soon as he saw the cheetah was approaching him. His eyes wide with uncertainty and his paws probing around on the rock, the little cub wasn't sure if he should go somewhere else or stay.
By the time the Jabari had laid down, it was too late for Maji to make a decision.
Jabari seemed hesitant to speak but his mouth opened and he spoke anyway.
" she will be back soon... Karensha has just gone to see what's out and about, that's all..She's not alone the lion has gone with her, she will be safe, have no fear."
The lion has gone with her. Thats what Maji didn't like about the situation. In the short time he had been around the dark lion, he had thrown a rock at Maji, pushed karensha into the water and he was just scary looking. Maji still didn't like him.
This situation wasn't going well in Majis head. He pushed his front paws on the ground and got up in a sitting position. These were the times when his father was normally by his side to hold him and comfort him. Karensha was comforting, but the only male in the world that he had trusted to protect him and made him feel safe could not be replaced.
Maybe if he pretended that Jabari was his father... No. It wouldn't be the same at all. He still knew in the back of his mind that it really wasn't his father. But also, he knew that Karensha wasn't his real mother. Still, Karensha was like a second mother to him. Maji was confused. He didn't know what to do or think now. Once again, he felt alone and waited patiently for Karensha to come back.

Slowly she moved down the rise towards the male, he was still a distance away, but from here she could see the strength in his body, the underlying power, which made a sigh escape from her lips. oh basilisk, why didn't I let you come with me, here I am trying to be brave, but I know what awaits me... gah I'm stupid thinking about him, as soon as Naheem saw him, he'd be on the offence and nothing would be gained, but lost..
Pausing in her stride, Karensha looked behind her but couldn't see anything or anyone, just the top of the ridge. well that didn't take long for him to disapear did it, I thought.. pff my own fault I told him to stay away. Switching off her thoughts, turning she moved forward once more, shaking her head vigorously and concentrating on making her body slouch in a despairing position, she had to make herself look the part.
Closer she got to him, and yet he didn't turn, he knew she was there, she could tell by the way his tail moved, was ironic really,she actually knew more about him than he did himself, she had spent so many hours in his company, most of it unpleasureable, yet he thought the opposite, and now was the time to make good from it.
"Fancy meeting you here Naheem, you wouldn't be following me by any chance? here I am on my walkabout and who do I meet up with." Karensha moved along side him and gently rubbed her side against his, making it look like an accident and then bent down to lap at the water, her pink tongue flicking in and out.

(I have permission to post for DJ)
As Naheem continued to drink, he could hear footsteps coming his way. He kept drinking though rather than looking back, he had a feeling that he knew who it was.
"Fancy meeting you here Naheem, you wouldn't be following me by any chance? here I am on my walkabout and who do I meet up with."
He felt a body rub up against his, so he looked up and saw that it was Karensha. He thought it would be hard to find her, but she just walked right up to him.
"Fancy that indeed. I thought it would be harder to find you, but I guess I was wrong."
He paused for a moment as he watched Karensha drink from the water hole.
"Your father is quite cross with you, you know. He isn't at all happy about you leaving. He's sent a few of us to look for you, and you're lucky it was me who found you."
He started to walk around her, running his paw along her body as he did.
"You know, if you came with me now I'd make sure nothing happens to you when we get back. I would hate for that body to be harmed in any way."
Once he got to the other side of her he gently grabbed her jaw and turned her head towards his.
"So, what do you say? If you come with me now, you won't get hurt."

Karensha concentrated on keeping her body relaxed, trying not to betray her loathing of the male beside her, everything she'd worked so hard for would be lost, just in a few careless words that reached his ears or his glance that caught emotions on her features.
Lifting her head slowly her face met his paw as it touched her skin, her lilac eyelashes lifted and her eyes met his, slowly she rubbed her jaw back and forth against the hard pad of his paw and then moved away a little. Making herself carry on with the charade, Karensha kept staring at him, till she realised she had better reply to his questions.
"Your father is quite cross with you, you know. He isn't at all happy about you leaving. He's sent a few of us to look for you, and you're lucky it was me who found you."
"Ohh Naheem...You know I'd told him countless times I needed to get away for a little, to explore and have some time by myself, he should have known it wouldn't be for long and I'd be back." Tilting her head slightly, she licked her lips. "You know what it's like, you've gone for little trips by yourself and you always come back with a smile on your face, well thats what I wanted for once. You wouldn't begrudge me that would you Naheem ?
"You know, if you came with me now I'd make sure nothing happens to you when we get back. I would hate for that body to be harmed in any way."
Pretending to look shocked, Karensha widened her eyes in surprise "Why would I be harmed in any way, you and father trust me, I've always done what you both asked of me... Naheem... who's going to hurt me?"

Sefu had been following the lion with dreads and the leopard for awhile now. He didn't want to alert them of his presence yet since he found their conversations interesting. This was probably the most exciting thing he's done in a while, but it's not hard to beat just lying around sleeping where ever he goes.
When Karensha went on ahead while the lion stayed behind to watch made Sefu a bit uneasy since he wanted to see who was waiting down there. All he knew was that it seemed like someone she didn't want to see was down there. He snuck up to the side of the other lion to see if he could get a glance of what Karensha was doing.
"Well, getting you and the leopard back to the group just got a little more complicated." He said to Basilisk when he saw the other lion, "So do we just wait here for now?"

"Well, any of the others, including your father, and me if you don't come with me now. You don't really have a choice anyway. I suggest we start making our way back." ____________________________________________________
Basilisk could hear someone coming and got himself ready in case it wasn't a friendly. He saw that it was the lion that stole from him and Sera before.
"What's he doing here?" Basilisk wondered to himself.
"Well, getting you and the leopard back to the group just got a little more complicated. So do we just wait here for now?"
"Keep silent and stay hidden." He whispered.

Maji sat there his little body trembling, it was like he had been abandoned all over again, he thought the snow leopard would stay with him, not walk away, now she had left him here all alone and he was still afraid of the cheetah, he was so big.
Looking over his shoulder he could see the other lioness, the one with the scar and funny eye, maybe she would talk to him if he asked her. Slowly he got to his paws and made to move past the cheetah, stretching his head he looked up and up till he met his eyes, blinking rapidly Maji gulped and quickly sprinted past him, tripping over his front paws he came to a halt on his tummy in front of the small lioness, and lay there panting.

Meri had closed her eyes for a while, relaxing in the sunlight and letting her tired muscles rest. She was still alert, but strangely enough she felt rather safe here with these strangers. Especially so after both of the male lions had left and she was alone with the cub, cheetah and the strange, spotted cat.
The white lioness took a deep breath and sighed contently, but then her ears twitched as she caught the sound of something approaching her. She opened her eyes just in time to see the small lion cub bolt past Jabari, trip over his own feet and land right in front of her. She blinked in surprise and titled her head, examining the small cub closely. When she was rather certain he was uninjured, she smiled faintly at him, wondering what the cub wanted from her.
Sera watched as the cub ran from Jabari to the white lioness, but made no movement to approach them. Why would she anyway? The cub was afraid of her, that much was sure, and Karensha would attempt to skin her alive anyway if she would go near the cub, so it was just better that she stayed where she was.
Speaking of Karensha...
Sera flattened her ears and lifted her head from her paws, turning to look at the direction where the leopard and both of the lions had gone. They had been gone for a while now... Too long for her liking. She frowned and bit her lower lip, glancing at Jabari before turning her gaze at where the others had gone.
The cheelion couldn't take the silence any more. "What's taking them so long..." she muttered quietly so that only Jabari would catch her words.

As Maji lay there his panting had finally subsided, and slowly he opened one eye then the other to find she was staring right back at him. Not sure what to do he just kept blinking rapidly and then he relaxed as he saw a small smile come out on her face. Looking over his shoulder he could see the one trying to hide in the tree staring at the Cheetah and then Maji looked past him, hoping against all odds that karensha was back, but when he coudn't see anybody at all, a small sigh passed through his lips and he clawed at the ground bringing himself along side of the lioness but leaving a space between them so they didn't touch, he again put his head on his front paws and just stared at the water shimmering away under the hot sun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jabari stood there on the warm rock speaking to the cub, he had hoped that he was reassuring him, that everything would be alright. Just when he thought he saw maji relax, he jumped to his paws and ran past him , of all things over to where Meri was laying and after tumbling, righted himself and choose to lie to the side of her. The Cheetah paused, he had thought the cub had got used to him, he hadn't shown any hostility to the others and had remained quiet of voice. Standing still Jabari as well looked over to where he had last seen karensha and Basilisk go, then followed by Sefu.
"What's taking them so long..." Switching his gaze to where he could see the cheelion, he wasn't sure if it was concern or just curiosity. keeping his voice low so the cub couldn't hear him.
" They've only been gone a short while, there's three of them together, it could be a while till they return, it depends on what satisfies karensha, whether it be friend or foe and if it's foe well, I hope everything turns out alright."
"I always made sure your father was okay with me leaving, and I never killed anyone on my way out."
Karensha tried not to let any anger appear on her face as she heard his words. he's always so smug, as though everyone is always in the wrong and he's in the right, if someone is dead, it's because he probably killed them and made it look like me.
"well you know I can look after myself Naheem, and I told one of the guards to pass onto father I'd be back in a day or two, it's not my problem that the fool got himself killed, at least I can say I haven't got his blood on my paws."
Moving past him alittle she bent her head down to the water and started lapping at it again, watching the image on the water in case he got too close trying to surprise her. if you don't come with me now. You don't really have a choice anyway. I suggest we start making our way back." Karensha as hard as she tried, still flinched when he uttered those words in his deep voice. Bringing her head up in a proud stance, she turned and then sat on her rump.
"Actually Naheem I do mind, I want to spend the rest of today and tonight under the stars by this waterhole, just you and me. No father, no guards, nobody except us.... Just one night, for us..alone."
Meri watched the small cub as he stared at her, then her smile widened slightly as she noticed the cub relax. She was glad that the Maji wasn't afraid of her, and so her smile grew slightly more as the cub laid down next to her. The cub left space between them and placed his head on his paws, watching the water.
Meri hesitated. She wasn't sure what she should do. The cub looked so lonely without the leopard around.
The white lioness glanced at Jabari and Sera, then slowly leaned closer to Maji and gave a small lick on top of his head. She then pulled back and smiled comfortingly at the cub, silently telling him that everything would be all right. She then laid her head on her paws, with her face slightly turned towards Maji so that she would be able to see him with her only eye.
They've only been gone a short while, there's three of them together, it could be a while till they return, it depends on what satisfies karensha, whether it be friend or foe and if it's foe well, I hope everything turns out alright."
Sera nodded, and glanced at the direction of the cub and white lioness. Maji seemed fairly comfortable where he currently was. What bothered her slightly though was how the lioness didn't speak.
She shook her head and turned back at Jabari. "I know they haven't been away that long", she said, still with a quiet voice and a faint frown. "But it doesn't change the fact that I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Maji lay there hoping Karensha would come back soon, he missed how she hugged him and held him close, another small sigh slipped though his lips as he watched the ocassional fish jump from the water and land with a splash making ripples move over the waterhole.
Taken unawares, he gave a little jump when he felt a tongue lick his head and Maji stared up at the lioness as she smiled and lay there watching him. Curiosity got the better of him, rising he got to his paws and moved slightly so he was now directly in front of her.
Sucking in as much air as he could,then with his lips forming an O, Maji blew at her dark blue hair watching as it moved away from her face showing a longscar from her eye down to her mouth and an eye that wasn't working. Not knowing what to do, he kept staring at the spot even though her hair had fallen down and covered it once more, then his gaze switched to her good eye that was staring back at him. Moving his head to one side and then back again Maji moved closer. Bringing up a paw he pushed the blue fur to one side and then licked her scar from top to bottom, dropped the fur back in place and smiled shyly at Meri and resumed his position beside her, watching where the cheetah talked with the other one.
"I suggest you save that for your father instead of telling me."
Naheem was beginning to get impatient. He was sent to look for her and bring her back. Now that he had found her they needed to get back as quickly as they could.
"Actually Naheem I do mind, I want to spend the rest of today and tonight under the stars by this waterhole, just you and me. No father, no guards, nobody except us.... Just one night, for us..alone."
"You expect me to believe that you want to stay out here for just one night? I'm no fool Karnesha, I know that you wanted to run away, and I know you don't intend on coming back, everybody does. Now, if you'll come with me we can head back, and I'll make sure nothing happens to you. This is the last time I'm going to ask you politely."
"Keep silent and stay hidden."
"Fine by me kid." Sefu said quietly to the lion next to him. He just watched Karensha and the new lion, not really wanting to do anything if something happens. Lying his head near the ground now, he was getting bored and wanted this little meeting between the two to hurry up and conclude.
"You know, we could probably just go out there and kill the other lion right now, kid, but you are probably not the type to kill another."
Sefu was hoping that saying that would provoke basilisk to go out there and attack the other lion. This would make things go abit faster and maybe get the two others back to the rest of the group sooner. Staying in the same spot still, Sefu kept watching and found it funny when the leopard seemed to get rejected by the lion. It seemed like the lions wasn't going to let his gaurd down towards Karensha which just meant more waiting from him.
"Wake me up when something interesting happens, kid."
Sefu then closed his eyes and decided to atleast get some sleep while he waited there, even though it wasn't very good timing on his part.
Meri kept a close eye at Maji when he walked to stand in front of her, wondering what the cub would do. She wasn't expecting him to do what he did next, and so she froze when the cub blew her hair away from her face. She was half expecting him to be disgusted or afraid of how her face looked like, but she found herself surprised when the cub moved closer and pushed her hair away so that he could lick her scar.
Meri blinked her eyes rapidly and took a shaky breath, then watched with a slightly stunned expression as the cub moved away from her with a smile on his face. It took a moment before she snapped out of being stunned, and when she did a small smile came to her lips.
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. If you steal another kill then you might find out."
Basilisk continued to watch Karensha and Naheem, and he wondered how long it was going to take her to get rid of him. He sat quietly, listening to what they were saying, and it sounded like it wouldn't take much longer.
"Wake me up when something interesting happens, kid."
"Why don't you just leave? You can tell the others we'll be back soon enough."
