"How far are you coming, now you've had your little chat?, you can go back to the cheelion, I'm sure shes waiting impatiently for you.. I've got things to take care of."
"Tsk tsk, so quick to get rid of me?" He said as he nudged her.
"It's obvious you're keeping something from us, you just said "things from your past have a bad habit of turning up unexpectedly" and now you hear just a little noise and have to go check things out. What or who are you looking for? You may want to keep it to yourself, but it would be best if we knew. It's possible that the rest of us could be put in harms way as well as yourself, that includes your cub. You wouldn't want anything to happen to him because you just kept the situation to yourself, would you? Now, to answer your question about how far I'll be coming... I might as well come the whole way since I've gone this far. I have nothing else to do anyway."
Basilisk continued walking with her silently, waiting to see what she would have to say.

Karensha kept moving, her lilac fur hanging over the top half of her face hiding her expression as Basilisk questioned her. 'damn him, why did he have to bring up about the cub, of course I don't want him hurt, what does the fool think I'm going to do,just take a walk in the sun.'
Sighing ,the snow leopard raised her head higher and looked at him, gently chewing on her bottom lip, maybe if she revealed a few things, he would just give up, turn back and leave her alone. "I was born a twin, my brother and I, and after he died or as my father screamed at me , I killed him, I was bought up to take his place. I was secluded and no one was allowed near me and my..father and his chosen few 'trained' me to be what they wanted. I escaped after killing someone.. and ... that's all you need to know really. I'm out here checking that the noise wasn't anyone that I knew, that I left behind in my other life, and if it is I'd rather no one see how I meet them."
Turning away from him Karensha sniffed at the air and lowered her body closer to the ground, her tail still and tucked down. Stopping, her head moved around searching for what she needed. Quickly moving over to the water she lowered herself till she was covered and then backed out and moved over to some bushes, laid down and started rolling in the dirt that lay in front of them. Satisfied she had covered as much of herself as possible she rose to her paws, hoping she was no longer 'white', but could blend in a little more and then unsheathed her claws, 'filing them on a flat stone and stared at Basilisk.
"You still want to come the whole way, since you say you have nothing else to do.?"

When Basilisk walked over to Karensha and started talking to her, Maji stopped following them. He didn't want to follow him anywhere. His mind was racing. Should he keep following Karensha? Finally, it was too late to do anything. The two of them had disappeared through the foliage.
Maji sat there not knowing what to do now. An eerie loneliness crept over him and then he turned around to see the cheetah. He didn't know what he should do still so he sat there under the stare of Jabari.

Basilisk listened to Karensha as she briefly talked about her history, and what she is looking out for. It made sense to him now, and he could stop wondering.
"Ah, so you think that some of them might be tracking you down. Very interesting history you have."
She then soaked herself in the water and then rolled around in the dirt, making it easier for her to blend in to the surroundings.
"You still want to come the whole way, since you say you have nothing else to do?"
"Yep, it's been pretty uneventful the past few days, other than that thief stealing our kill... Besides, if it just so happens that it's someone who is looking for you, he won't be alone."

Sefu just sat in silence and watched as the leopard left the cub in the cheetah's care. It wasn't hard to figure out that there was something wrong with the leopard, even if he did just meet her. The cub tried to go after her but the lioness suprised him when she got up and placed the cub back in front of the cheetah. When the lioness did that though, he heard a faint snort come from the shadows.
Taking a glance over to where he heard the sound and only saw a pair of purple eyes staring at him. He figured that it was probably just the cheelion trying to avoid him. Not wanting to really deal with her, Sefu just turned his attention back to the cheetah.
"That was a bit strange, but whatever I guess," Sefu said with a shrug at the end, "The leopard can probably take care of herself."

"The leopard can probably take care of herself."
Sera snorted very quietly at Sefu's words. She opened her mouth, preparing to say something very sarcastic about just how well she thought the leopard would deal against something big and scary like a spider or mouse, but when she caught the sight of the small cub she thought better of it and swallowed her nasty comments.
She shook her head and sighed, turning to look at the direction where Karensha and Basilisk had disappeared. "No doubts she can." Her voice was quiet when she replied to Sefu's words, yet they were loud enough so that Sefu would hear her.

Jabari stood there astounded, the last thing he ever thought he'd see was the snow leopard actually parting from the cub, and now she had turned her back and was walking away, for that to happen something was amiss big time.
Standing there watching her back and then Basilisk tag along after her, he felt the the cub stand on his front paw trying to follow, seems like it was the day for surprises as Meri darted out from behind him and pulled the cub back towards them so he couldn't follow, and then she moved back behind him as well.
The cheetah looked again to the direction where Karensha had gone to and back to the lion in front of him. "The leopard can probably take care of herself you say... but what if she can't, what if there's something waiting out there, she had a pretty determined look on her face, the situation just doesn't feel right.. I think we need to take a look as well, you know watch each others backs whether you realise it or not... its what to do about this little one.?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... Besides, if it just so happens that it's someone who is looking for you, he won't be alone."
Karensha didn't bother sparing him a glance once he spoke, she was sniffing the air and looking closely at the ground, looking for any fresh pawprints or markings. "Do you think you can keep your voice down to a whisper.. if you have to speak." Stopping quickly, she put herself in front of the lion almost leaning back against him, her ears flattening alittle amongst her lilac fur ,almost disapearing from sight. Lowering her head she licked at some leaves and then turned her head and spat on the ground. "Come on, lets go and try and be quiet, if you can ."
"Do you think you can keep your voice down to a whisper.. if you have to speak."
"Sure," Baslisk replied.
They continued to walk in silence when suddenly Karensha walked infront of him and came to an abrupt stop, causing him to bump into her. He watched with interest as she licked some leaves and then spat on the ground.
"Her father seems to have taught her some interesting things." He thought to himself.
"Come on, lets go and try and be quiet, if you can ."
Basilisk nodded and continued to follow her, keeping quiet and watching his paws to make sure he didn't step on something that would make noise.
Maji didn't know why Karensha put him with this scary cheetah. She was the only one he had come to trust since his parents. Where was she going? Was she going to come back? So many questions raced through Majis mind. It was making him jittery. With his tail between his legs, head hung low, ears back and paws close together, the small cub shuffled his way a couple steps away from the cheetah, leaving scuff marks in the sand and tried not to look at him.
After a while, the cub looked back at the rock he and Karensha had been on earlier. With a short bound, he headed for it and jumped up on it. After finding the spot that Karensha was on, he laid down on it, wondering if he could still feel the warmth on it. The whole rock had been in the sun for a while now so it didn't make a difference where he was on it. The whole thing was warm.
With a sigh, Maji laid his head down, chin on his paws and waited to see if Karensha would come back through the foliage.
Hearing the cheelion say something was a bit suprising to him, since he thought she would just ignore him for now. Atleast she agreed with him and thought the leopard could take care of herself.
"I think we need to take a look as well, you know watch each others backs whether you realise it or not... its what to do about this little one.?"
"I guess you can't take the cub with you since it might put him at risk which also means you can't go since you are supposed to watch him," Sefu explained to the cheetah, "the lioness behind you seems too scared to do anything. I guess that just leaves me and the female hiding in the bushes as the only ones that are able to go."
Sefu was a little annoyed by this fact because he wasn't really wanting to go out and look for people he just met who might also bring trouble with them. Maybe the female would go out looking for him he thought, but she would have left by now if she wanted to.
"I guess I'll go looking for them then," He said after thinking about it. Turning around, he lazily started walking in the direction that the leopard went.
The Cheetah stood there, torn in different directions, but he made the only decision possible he couldn't in all decency leave the cub and Meri here alone when they so obviously needed protection, he would just have to hope that the snow leopard knew how to protect herself, and she wasn't alone, the lion with the messy mane had followed her and possibly this one in front of him was going to take a look as well.
Stepping back he gave the cheelion a cursory look and then his attention moved onto where the cub was now lying forlornly on the rock where before he had been with Karenhsa. All he could do was stay back and keep a watch on him, seeing that he came to no harm, because for some reason he knew that when the snow leopard returned, if Maji wasn't in one unharmed piece, he would be the one served up for dinner next.
Easing out his front paws, Jabari stretched and lowered himself down to the ground, his eyes not straying from the lion cub, but knowing the small lioness was still right behind him.
"You know Meri... now the others have wandered off, you can come out from behind me, theres's nothing here that can jump out at you, and one of those rocks by the cub, looks mighty fine to lay on, maybe it could be just the thing to heal a few places of broken skin and bruises I saw on you ."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Karensha walked slowly and carefully ahead, her senses were all on alert, she found herself forgetting about Basilisk who was trailing back a bit and to her left side, she instead was trying to block out images of another time where it was her father beside her, dealing out punishment if she didn't do her task to how he thought it should be done. Shaking her head briskly to get rid of the unwanted thoughts, karensha stopped quickly as they came to a clearing. Lying down on her belly she pulled herself as close as possible to the edge, she wasn't about to show herself just yet, she needed to see how much in the open they had to travel to get themselves across to the next lot of foliage.
Swiveling her head around for a moment, she nearly smiled when her eyes fell on what she was after 'perfect'.Raising her glance back up, they rested on Basilisk standing behind her. "Nows your chance to impress me lion, I need that stone go as far as you can towards that clump of bushes over there, I don't care how you do it, but I want to see those leaves shake."

Sera watched closely as the thief left left after Karensha and Basilisk. She rolled her eyes when he was out of sight. Really, had he expected that she'd go after the two? Especially after how the leopard had treated her? Not a chance.
Sera closed her eyes, intending to get some rest now that she finally had the chance.
"-- and one of those rocks by the cub, looks mighty fine to lay on, maybe it could be just the thing to heal a few places of broken skin and bruises I saw on you ."
Meri visibly flinched when the cheetah's last words reached her ears. For a moment she thought that she should have kept her fur dirty just to cover everything. But then again it felt wonderful to be clean again, so...
Meri shook her head, but she didn't move from where she was. She saw no reason really, the spot she was in was comfortable enough, and she was reluctant to go near the cub. The lioness laid down on the grass and placed her head on her crossed paws.

Basilisk's eyes wandered around instead of looking where he was going. Karensha suddenly stopped again as he brought his eyes down, causing him to almost bump into her for the second time. She got down low to the ground, so he did the same and crawled up next to her.
"Nows your chance to impress me lion, I need that stone go as far as you can towards that clump of bushes over there, I don't care how you do it, but I want to see those leaves shake."
"That's hardly a challenge" He replied as he picked up the rock.
He pulled the stone behind his head and threw it forward in an upward direction. His eyes were glued onto the stone as it went up into the air, and then came down straight into the bush.
"Not a bad throw if I do say so myself. Why did you need me to do that anyway?"

"Not a bad throw if I do say so myself. Why did you need me to do that anyway?"
Karensha heard his voice clearly and automatically bought up her paw and slapped it across his mouth, staring at him she shook her head. Leaning in close to him her mouth touched the skin by his ear, her breath making the fur from his dreds move slightly. "If you insist on talking, you'll do so close to my ear, so no sounds will travel..got it."
Moving back, karensha pushed whatever stones that were lying around them towards Basilisk and moved closer to the edge of her cover.Looking back, she glanced down at the rocks and then back to Basilisk, giving him a nod. I hope he's as smart as he looks, or else we're both in trouble

Basilisk felt Karensha's paw come up and hit him across the face. He quickly got angry and was about to ask why she did that when she leaned in and talked into his ear.
"If you insist on talking, you'll do so close to my ear, so no sounds will travel..got it."
"Oh yeah... right..." Basilisk thought to himself as he remembered that they were supposed to stay quiet.
Basilisk rubbed the spot where he was hit as Karensha pushed more stones towards him. She looked down to the rocks and back up at him, so he assumed she wanted him to throw another one. He picked up a rock in his paw and looked at karensha. He smiled as an evil thought crossed through his mind, but he quickly dismissed it, the fun would have to wait until later. He again threw the rock all the way to the bushes and looked back at her, waiting to see what she would do.

Maji watched the water from atop the rock he was laying on. Every once in a while, a leaf fell to the surface, making little ripples in the water. Sometimes, Maji tried to predict where the next leaf would land. He was never very close to being accurate but this kept him busy while he waited.

Jabari had hoped Meri would have gone and joined the little cub, but it seemed she had other ideas when she just laid down where she had been standing, sheltering behind him. Not saying anything to her, as he didn't want to add to her distress or make her feel any more uncomfortable, he took a few paces himself towards the cub and then stopped. ' what if I scare him, he hasn't really come near me at all in the past few days'
Looking over his shoulder at Meri, he could see she was relaxed, well in her own sort of fashion, then tilting his head stared at the cheelion in her 'disguise'. Sighing a little Jabari moved closer to the cub where he was stretched out in the sun staring at the water. Not crowding him , the cheetah laid down on a large flat rock near him not speaking at first just letting the cub get used to his presence.
Keeping his voice low Jabari tried to speak reassuringly to the young one " she will be back soon... Karensha has just gone to see what's out and about, that's all..She's not alone the lion has gone with her, she will be safe, have no fear."
Not knowing what else to say Jabari rested his head on his front paws and cocked his ears seeing if he could hear anything out of the ordinary.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karensha saw the look that passed across his muzzle, if she wasn't so edgy she might have smirked, instead she just raised her eyebrows and then turned away waiting to see if he'd carry on throwing the stones at the bushes.
Seeing the first few land in different places she moved away from Basilisk and slipped out from under cover and sprinted as fast as she could to the back of the bushes, sliding under, wincing a little as the branches dug into the skin on her hip. Not moving again she waited listening, but no sounds carried her way.
Rising to her paws she moved carefully around, sniffing at the ground and licking a few more leaves here and there, trying to pick up any familiar scents, so far none assailed her senses to what she knew from her past. Standing still she looked ahead at a rise that was blocking her view as to what could be on the other side, she knew she had to go and investigate, for some reason the company of the lion semed a lot more palatable than going alone.
Basilisk watched Karensha run out into the open and across to the other side, sliding into the bushes. He sat there listening for away sort of movement. Once he figured it was okay to follow he walked up to the edge of the tree line and looked both ways, making sure nothing would see him as he ran across as well. Once he felt he was clear, he ran as fast as he could across to the other side as well. He came up behind karensha and saw that she was looking up at a rise that the two of them would have to get over in order to continue their search. The thought went through his head that he and Karensha didn't have a plan of action for when/if they found somebody that is looking for her. Basilisk pulled Karensha's head closer to him and whispered in her ear.
"So, if we happen to stumble upon one of your old friends, what do you plan on doing? We should probably have something planned out before we climb this ridge here, just in case."
Basilisk sat beside her waiting for a response.
Karensha stood there lost in thought about what she might find on the other side of the ridge, when a warm paw touched her face and pulled her head around, where she met brown eyes watching her.
"So, if we happen to stumble upon one of your old friends, what do you plan on doing? We should probably have something planned out before we climb this ridge here, just in case."
"We.. there's no we Basilisk.. I came out here to see if the noise was something from my past, you just needed to satisfy your curiosity, this is my fight if there's going to be one, besides.. I know how to handle myself, last thing I need is you on my conscience as well."
Blinking, she finally pulled her gaze from his and stepped back, sighing when he moved as well. Realising that he was going to go with her, no matter how much she tried otherwise, she paused again, this time it was she her put her paw up against his chest halting him.
" I don't know if it will be Naheem or someone just roaming around, but.. you need to let me handle it, if it's the one my father has sent...What I'll do and react is something you wont expect ... do I have your word ?"
"I know how to handle myself, last thing I need is you on my conscience as well."
The last part of what she said angered basilisk a bit, but he kept quiet to keep from showing it.
"She talks as if she's the only fighter out of the two of us." He thought to himself.
"I don't know if it will be Naheem or someone just roaming around, but.. you need to let me handle it, if it's the one my father has sent...What I'll do and react is something you wont expect ... do I have your word ?"
"Fine, I'll stay out of your way, but I'm not going to just sit here and wait until you get back. I didn't come this far just to have you say "wait here". If we come across someone you know, then I'll make myself disappear."
Basilisk climbed up over the ridge and looked down to her.
"You'll find that I'm quite stubborn sometimes"
