During the walk back nothing had been said by neither Basilisk, nor Sera. Not that they could talk much anyway, as they were carrying food back.
Once they reached the water Basilisk saw that only Sefu and Kabechet were still there. He continued on, but stopped when they reached them.
"Where are the others?"

Maji struggle lightly with his legs waving in the air as he was carried into the cave, it was dark in here and smelly. Suddenly there was a clash of thunder and he hung there frozen, maybe it was't so bad in the cave after all he considered to himself.

Sefu stayed and watched as the other went to go to the cave for shelter. He saw that the snake was then only one staying behind with him. It didn't seem like a good idea for the snake to stay out in the rain that was bound to come, but he didn't really care what the snake did and didn't say anything.
It wasn't long after the rest of the group left that the other lion and cheelion showed up again. Sefu saw that they had brought food back but wasn't really impressed by the size of their prey.
"Where are the others?"
"They went to your cave to shelter the cub and lioness. So have fun carrying your kill to there, even though it won't be too hard seeing how small it is."

"They went to your cave to shelter the cub and lioness. So have fun carrying your kill to there, even though it won't be too hard seeing how small it is."
Kabechet had to resist snickering out loud at Sefu's reply. She eyed the gazelle the two felines had managed to catch, then shook her head ever so slightly before resting her head on her body and closing her eyes. Her tongue continued flicking in and out, however, so she wasn't oblivious of what was happening around her.
Sera frowned at Sefu when she heard his reply to Basilisk. So it wasn't enough for the lion to steal their dinner, he now actually had to throw insults at what they had managed to catch! She shot a murderous glare from behind half closed eyelids at Sefu before she continued to carry their prey towards Basilisk's cave. She had to get away from Sefu before she would say something she'd regret.

"Oh? Well then I assume your kill is bigger?"
Basilisk looked around for a second as a joke trying to find Sefu's kill.
"Weird, I don't see anything. Did you already eat it? Or can you not get kills unless we chase the gazelle towards you first?"
Basilisk gave him a smile and then picked up the gazelle and continued with Sera on their way to the cave.

"Let me guess what you did then, hide in the bushes until the cheelion chased something in front of you. A bit of a hypocrite now aren't ya kid."
Sefu kept his laid back attitude while insulting the other lion. He knew that his comments had truth in his unlike the ones that Basilisk kept saying to him, and also knew that Basilisk was easier to make angry.
"But I guess it's fine for you to do it, we can't expect a coward to kill something without it's back turned now can we?"

Basilisk had only taken a few steps before he heard Sefu snap back at him.
"Let me guess what you did then, hide in the bushes until the cheelion chased something in front of you. A bit of a hypocrite now aren't ya kid."
"Sera is much faster than me, so we might as well take advantage of her speed, no? I can catch them fine on my own, so I don't need to resort to stealing like you."
"But I guess it's fine for you to do it, we can't expect a coward to kill something without it's back turned now can we?"
"My my, it seems I've struck a chord now haven't I?"
Basilisk saw a flash of light, and then heard the rumbling of thunder.
"We'll have to take a rain check on this, as we have others waiting to eat this. Just remember to mind your manners around people you've just met, and watch what you say. You might find yourself unable to speak otherwise."
Basilisk picked up the gazelle with Sera once again and hurried his pace to avoid getting wet. It was too late for that though and rain began to fall.

Jabari sat there taking in his surroundings his gaze falling on the white lioness who it seemed was trying to press her self hard into the ground almost trying to disapear. For a moment he felt himself start to rise as if to go to her, but then paused and held himself back, he wasn't sure she allowed any to 'invade' her space to get near her, only the cub so far she had been willing. Not wanting to scare her any more, Jabari walked to where Karensha lay with Maji, and bent his head close to her ear, whispering softly.
" I know you and the cub are close, but he's the only one she has lowered her guard with, and looking at her I think she needs someone with her, but for now us older ones will only frighten her more.". Looking away again, the cheetah watched Meri as she twitched a little, her ears still flattened. "Do you think you could move the cub over to her and ask her to look out for him or something that would be a distraction, just for a little while.?"

Sefu just let out a small laugh and smiled as the lion and cheelion kept walking along. It seemed way to easy to get Basilisk to say empty threats that he will never follow through on, but it made Sefu know that the other lion wasn't able to keep up with him logic-wise.
He looked over to see that the snake was still watching ad he just continued to smile.
"I don't think I will ever get tired of that kids empty threats, maybe one day he'll fulfill one of them."
Right after saying that though, he felt rain start landing on him and let out a sigh of annoyance. Sefu hasn't been much of fan of rain since it would just add extra weight to his fur that he would have to carry until he get's dried.
"Well I guess this is going to be a fun night just relaxing in the rain."

"I don't think I will ever get tired of that kids empty threats, maybe one day he'll fulfill one of them."
Kabechet grinned amusedly, and slowly nodded her head. She could see why the lion enjoyed messing with the dreadlocked one.
However, her amusement was short lived when the first drops of rain fell on her. She glared at the sky with annoyance, as if a mere look would make the clouds dissolve.
"Well I guess this is going to be a fun night just relaxing in the rain."
"Indeed..." the cobra replied sarcastically. "Cold rain is a lovely weather... not to mention the possibility of getting hit by thunder if you would happen to take shelter under a tree."
She glanced after Basilisk and Sera, wondering whether or not she should have gone with the rest of the group. She snorted. No, it was better she kept her distance for now, at least until the group got used to the idea of having a snake tag along with them.
(OOC: I'll write something up for Sera and Meri later)

Karensha had positioned herself facing the entrance of the cave, that way she could see all comings and goings, plus hopefully it would also allow her to come and go as she would like without disturbing the others.
Looking up as the cheetah approached , karensha listened to what he was saying, and then moved her neck a little so she could look around him and over to where the lioness was laying, well where she was rolled up as though she was anticipating something was about to hit her. 'been there done that..the poor thing' .
Looking back down at Maji who was curled up asleep, the snow leopard smiled at the little one and then met the cheetahs glance once more. "If I leave him with her, you will stay here and not leave them alone, she looks frantic, and when the next thunder rolls across, she'd better look after him and not strike out in fear.. you know what I'm saying ?" Watching as the cheetah gave a firm nod with his head, Karensha stood to her paws and lifted the sleeping cub and moved to close the distance to where Meri was huddled. Bending over, the leopard placed Maji right next to her cheek, and using a paw she pushed the cub firmer against her and then stood back and turned to where the cheetah was standing right behind her. " It's your job now to watch over both of them, for when I return I expect to see the cub, safe and sound, and if not...well we'll just leave it there shall we."
Moving over to the entrance of the cave, Karensha stood there a moment her head raised to the dark sky, and just slowly breathed in the fresh air and the small drops of rain that were falling. With her eyes closed and a smile gracing her muzzle, she stepped out into the open and shuddered with pleasure as more rain fell onto her body. Moving a few more steps towards the spot she had chosen earlier, the one where she could be alone and relax without anyone watching her, she suddenly hit something hard, cold and wet, sending her falling backwards, her cheeks reddening in the dark at how foolish she had been at moving while her eyes were closed. Opening her eyes quickly she stared at the two that were standing before her.

Basilisk quickened the pace of him and Sera so they could get out of the rain quickly. The gazelle was getting heavier because of the extra weight from the rain, and it was slipping out out of his mouth. He brought up a paw to try an reposition it when something bumped into him, causing him to drop the gazelle. He looked down to see what he had run into, and realized that it was Karensha.
"Why hello there," he started, "come to help us carry this the rest of the way back?"

Meri was could hear her name being mentioned while Karensha and Jabari spoke, but she simply couldn't react to it. She was vaguely aware that the two thought that she would be good taking care of Maji through the storm, but somewhere deep beneath her frightened thoughts a she knew that she could not do so.
Meri whimpered and shut her eyes tightly. She forced herself to turn away from the cave entrance, curling on a tight ball while facing the wall. The occasional sounds of thunder still made her flinch, and she repeated in her mind over and over again that it all would end up being all right.
Sera was just about getting enough of the cursed rain. It drenched her fur completely, and made her fringe cling uncomfortably on her face. She had to blink her eyes rapidly to stop the hair from going into her eyes. Not only that, but the rain also made the gazelle weight more, and jer jaws were getting more and more tired after each passing moment. Her only relief was that soon they would be in the cave again.
However, they suddenly came to a halt when she heard Basilisk stop and drop the gazelle. Confused, she too dropped her hold and turned to look at him, only to see that Karensha had bumped into him. She blinked, wondering what the snow leopard was doing outside with the downpour.
"Why hello there. Come to help us carry this the rest of the way back?"
Sera too wanted to hear Karensha's answer, and she watched the leopard with a mildly curious expression.

Jabari stood still as the snow leopard gently placed the cub closer to the lioness, hoping that might make her quieten, hearing a small heart beat along side her to soothe, and then she stated what she wanted and turned and walked from the cave.
Trying not to frown he watched as she moved herself away from the little one and turned towards the cave wall, curling tighter into herself into a ball, leaving Maji alone. Not wanting to incur karensha's wrath, he then moved forward, picked up the cub and slowly walked over to where Meri now lay. Positioning himself in front of her, his large body blocked out all views to where she might be able to see out the cave, he then lowered himself to the floor, stretching out his long front limbs and lay as close as he dared to the lioness. Lowering his head he carefully placed the cub between his paws and curled them around the small body. As he lay there his eyes swung from Meri to the entrance of the cave, as he could hear between the rain coming down with the storm some sort of commotion at the entrance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Why hello there. Come to help us carry this the rest of the way back?"
Karensha struggled back up onto her paws and shook her body quickly, trying to fix a blank look on her face, thankful it was dark so Basilisk and the female with him couldn't see her blush.
" Why would I be coming to help you carry back your kill ? you didn't stay around to help me with what I caught earlier, you left me too it as you were in a hurry to get this one here back to show her your 'cave'.
Stepping around them quickly just as lightening lit up the sky illuminating them brightly, Karensha couldn't help but smile. "Don't let me hold you up now .... I need to be somewhere." Over her shoulder she let more words carry on the breeze to them as she walked away a few more steps. " I'm sure Jabari could use a meal, he didn't eat much earlier, and I think your friend would really like to be out of this storm, maybe you could give her a rubdown with those dreds of yours, must be some useful purpose for them."
Not looking over her shoulder, she presumed the two would carry on into the cave, and not bothering to look where Kabachet and Sefu were, Karensha kept walking. Around the waterhole she moved, the rain hitting her body and running down her skin, all she did was flick her head ocassionally to clear her vision and her pink tongue would come out licking around her mouth savouring the taste.
At last she was there... she had seen this spot when herself and the two lions had returned from their 'walk'. It was sheltered and private and far away from the others, no one should be able to hear or see her, this is what she needed to soothe her soul, and clense her mind.
Sera's eyes flashed with anger and she released a low growl. Apparently the leopard missed it though due to the heavy downpour as she walked off without a second glance.
Sera glared at the spot where Karensha had stood, her ears flattening against her skull as she fought to control herself and not go after the leopard. However, when her rage failed to calm down enough she just sighed in frustration - a sound that was mixed with another growl - and sunk her teeth into the gazelle, preparing to continue carrying it towards the cave as soon as possible.
"I didn't mean that literally." Basilisk said rolling his eyes.
Basilisk waited as she finished talking and then walked off to where ever she needed to be. He looked over at Sera, who was clearly angry.
"Don't let her get to you, she's just trying to get under your fur. Now let's hurry to the cave, we're almost there."
Karensha carried on a little further climbing up and over rocks,. some smooth others rough, until she came to the clearing.
Leaping down she stood there stretching her limbs as another crack filled the night, closely followed by the streaks of lightening intertwining with each other, the sight made her smile broadly and then she broke into laughter.
Moving forward into the cool water, for some reason she paused and quickly looked over her shoulder, satisfied that no one was there she moved even further until her paws couldnt touch the bottom any more. Taking a deep breath she let herself sink under the water and just held herself there, her eyes closed.
Calming her breathing down, she could stay under the water longer than anyone else she had come across... a few times she had used it to hide from her father and Naheem, it was now how she escaped from her feelings of inadequacy and self doubt, something she couldn't and wouldn't show to anyone around her, in case they used it against her.
Meri tensed every time she heard the thunder, and each time she tensed she curled tighter and tighter into a ball. She was biting her jaws shut so hard that it would be a miracle if they didn't hurt when she would finally relax.
However, when she heard movement very close to her, her head suddenly spun around, and her stare was fixated on Jabari, who had moved closer to her. She stared at the cheetah wildly, not recognizing him even though she knew she should. It took several moments before her brains finally realized that the cheetah was indeed a friend and that she was perfectly safe where she was. For now, at least.
The thunder didn't help her though, and she cringed with a slight whimper of distress at the sounds.
"Don't let her get to you, she's just trying to get under your fur. Now let's hurry to the cave, we're almost there."
Sera glanced at Basilisk quickly from under her eyelashes, then sighed heavily and nodded. She knew he was right that she shouldn't care... But comments like that just made her very... edgy. With another sigh the cheelion finally forced herself to relax and push her rage aside, concentrating on carrying the food to the cave instead.
They arrived there soon enough, and Sera was relieved to finally get out of the rain. She quickly glanced at Jabari, seeing that the cheetah was right next to Meri, holding Maji close. It seemed that the small cub wasn't the only one the cheetah was trying to calm down. Meri looked like she wanted to fall through the ground.
The cheelion dropped her hold, then flashed a quick smile at Jabari, Meri and Maji. "Dinner time", she called, then moved a bit away from the others to shake the water off of her fur before she'd get her share of the food.
Basilisk and Sera had made it back to the cave quickly and he was half surprised to see the amount of people sitting in his cave. It was going to be tight in here during the night.
"Dinner time"
Basilisk dropped the half on the gazelle he was carrying, and walked a bit to the side to shake off the water. He waited for everyone else to go for the food first and get his share last.
"So how did you all find this place anyway?"
Sefu was starting to end up drenched because of the rain and let out a sigh. The rain wasn't too cold but the thunder was getting on his nerves since it seemed to loud for him to get any sleep. He laid down on the wet ground so he could relax a bit more and so there was a less of a chance of getting hit by lightning.
"So snake, got anything to talk about while we stay out here."
