"Now about you, are you going to stay here too or are you going back to whatever place you came from?" "You know.. I couldn't think of a better question."
The cobra burst into laughter at Karensha's comment. She laughed so loudly that her whole body was trembling. When she finally managed to gain control over herself again, she raised her head up, and most of her body, up so that she could look at the two felines on the same eye level.
"Ah, I am afraid you will not get rid of me that eassily", she said with an amused grin. "Besidess, why would I go back when I jusst got away from there? There iss much for me to ssee, much to hear, and much to learn... much, much more than if I had remained with Karenssha'ss father."
She tilted her head slightly as she stared at felines, then slowly lowered herself back to the ground and left her head raised up only slightly. "I sshall sstay... For now. You may not be happy with it, but ssince Karenssha sstated that 'sshe doess not care what I do'..."
The cobra paused, flicking her forked tongue in and out momentarily before she continued. "If there iss ssomething you wissh me to do, you can let me know. For now I sshall only tag along and try not to bother you too much."
Kabechet glanced at the sun-heated rock, and decided she should return there. The cool grass wasn't very comfortable to her, and the warmth of the sun would be nice to enjoy while it lasted. So, the snake turned at the two felines one more time. "Iss there anything elsse you wissh to assk me?"
Meri could hear the cheetah follow her, could hear how the spotted cat spoke to Maji. But for now she ignored that, and instead enjoyed the momentary feeling of calm and safety that the cheetah's presence and kind words gave her.
As she reached the water, she stopped, glancing over her shoulder at Jabari and Maji. She smiled faintly at the sight of them, glad that the cheetah was still following her. Then she looked past the cheetah, and at the group. It seemed that Sera and Basilisk were heading away, though she had no idea why. The cobra was discussing with Karensha and Sefu.
The white lioness nodded in satisfaction. She couldn't hear what the group was talking about, and she was glad. It gave her the opportunity to pretend that they were not there, and she would enjoy that as long as it lasted.
She turned to look at the water, wondering what to do. She didn't want to swim right now, the bath from last night had been enough for now. And so she just sat down and waited for the cheetah to arrive.

Basilisk didn't hear any reply from Sera, but she started walking away so he took it as a yes. He jogged up so he was walking next to her while they made their way to the hunting spot.
"Let's hope we actually get something this time. I'd hate to have to ask for food again..."

Karensha listened to the cobra's reply to Sefu, she wondered if it would make him angry or he would stay his normal old relaxed self, where as her opiniin which she was keeping to herself, was that something still wasn't quite right about Kabechet following her.
"If there iss ssomething you wissh me to do, you can let me know. For now I sshall only tag along and try not to bother you too much."
Karensha gave a small snort, meeting Kabechets watchful stare. "Tag along.. where on earth would that be to ?, watching when we eat or sleep you will find pretty boring, I'm sure....but it's your choice, so feel free."
Stepping back past the two of them, Karensha started to move to where Basilisk was, but he took off after the cheelion. Stopping, she raised her voice calling out to him. "BASILISK...WAIT " As she watched, his steps didn't falter and he carried on into the bushes with Sera. Karensha looked up once more at the ever darkening night sky almost smiling as she heard thunder growling in the distance. Bringing her eyes back they rested on Meri with the cub and the cheetah standing near the water's edge.
"Blast.. all I needed to know from him , was where his little love nest is, so I can get Meri and Maji away from this storm coming, they both look like they need a safe dry haven to keep resting in."
Turning from where she saw Basilisk go, she moved towards where Jabari was standing, just as a loud crack of thunder rolled all around them.

Sefu stayed relax when he was listening to the snake's answer knowing it wasn't his position to worry what she does. When the snake said she was going to stay, Sefu looked even more relax.
"Good to hear that you'll stay, now I dont have to try stopping you from reaching your boss."
He suddenly heard thunder in the distance and let out a groan because of it. He didn't want to try going to sleep while it rained but knew he didn't have a choice. When looking over, he noticed that Karensha had ran off to where Basilisk was going.
"Well, I hope you like rain because it looks like theres going to be alot of it soon." Sefu said to the snake.

Being brought to the side of the water, Maji was standing a bit awkward, the others - he was't sure exactly what was going on but he did't like it.
Maji heard the thunder roll in the distance and felt his fur stand on end, it was going to be a bad storm with lightning and wind. He emitted a small whimper, his ears flattening down, he did't like storms, they were bad.
He crounched down low to the ground as to get as far away as possible.

"Let's hope we actually get something this time. I'd hate to have to ask for food again..."
Sera nodded her head, but before she could answer she heard thunder in the distance. "We better make it quick too", she said, glancing at the direction where the thunder was coming from. "Otherwise we'll be quite... wet."
"Well, I hope you like rain because it looks like theres going to be alot of it soon."
Kabechet chuckled. "Oh, I'm sure I will be fine. I just hope that you like thunder, lion", she said in amusement. "For the lightning always strikes the taller ones..."
Meri didn't cope well with the sound of thunder. In fact, her reaction was pretty much the same as Maji's. She yelped, stumbling backwards and away from the water. In the process she tripped, and landed in the ground on her belly. She flattened her ears and held herself as tightly against the ground as she could, seemingly unwilling to move anywhere from the spot.

"We better make it quick too, otherwise we'll be quite... wet."
"Well as long as nothing stalls us we should be fine."
Basilisk was a bit quiet as they continued to walk towards their hunting spot. He tried to look through the trees and could see faint outlines of what could possibly be their food.
"So, you have any ideas, or do you want to just run and see if we can catch one?"

"So, you have any ideas, or do you want to just run and see if we can catch one?"
Sera shrugged with her gaze locked at the figures of their possible prey ahead of them. "What ever works the best. I don't really have a better plan than just running and catching what ever we can." She cringed. "Lets hope we ain't gonna run into another guy who decides to snatch our food from us."

As Karensha made her way over to where Jabari was watching over the lioness and the cub, she saw Maji react with fear to the crack of thunder and almost instantly the young female dropped to the ground in panic and the rolling noise.
"Jabari !! I was about to ask Basilisk where that cave of his was, that him and Sera were sheltering in before, but he took off too fast. You seem to be the one that's been here the longest, do you think you can find it, we need to get these two sheltered as I'm sure the next thing will be lightening followed by a good heavy downpour"
Moving closer to the cub, Karensha scooped him into her paws and cradled his body, talking low soothing words. Pushing him closer to where Meri was flattened against the ground, the leopard looked once more up into the sky, knowing she needed to move them away before it struck. Bringing a paw away from Maji, Karensha bought it forward touching and stroking Meri on her head carefully.
"Meri...shhhh now, you need to get up, show Maji that you can do this and we'll go and find Basilisk's cave where we can all shelter. You'll be safe and dry in there and Jabari will see that nothing happens and look after things... Come on now.. Please get up so we can go quickly."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jabari had been standing there watching the male and the cheelion run off for food, maybe they would find something maybe they wouldn't. Turning to face the leopard as she spoke to him, he saw how Meri was cowering and the cub was the same. Bringing his head up Jabari listened to Karensha, giving her a brief nod he was waiting to see what the lioness would do, if he had to, he would carry her if she was that paralised with fear.
"What ever works the best. I don't really have a better plan than just running and catching what ever we can."
"Alright, well you have some cheetah in you, do you wanna chase one while I intercept it? Just try to keep it going in a large circle or something."
Basilisk stood in place as he waited for her reply.
Maji twitched his ears as Karensha tried to comfort him and moved him over to Meri. Though he felt more safe with her there he was still terrorfied by the thunder and lightning and his little heart was beating so, in his chest.
"For the lightning always strikes the taller ones..."
Sefu laughed at the snakes comment. It seemed that the snake was able to come up with some amusing come-backs, but now it seemed that it was a good time to ask questions.
"Now, I wanted to ask you something before getting cut off by the cheetah. What was your's and Karensha old pride like and why did you seem to leave it?"
The white lioness' head snapped around when Karensha spoke to her, and she stared at the leopard wildly. It took a moment for her words to register, but when they finally did the lioness nodded quickly, ready to jump up and rush for shelter with the others just as soon as they would get going.
"Now, I wanted to ask you something before getting cut off by the cheetah. What was your's and Karensha old pride like and why did you seem to leave it?"
Kabechet stared at Sefu with unblinking eyes, then made a slightly shrugging movement with her long body. "It wass a powerful pride... One where I wass ssafe during the yearss I wass nothing more than a hatchling. The pride gave me the opportunity to grow in peace, and ass long ass I did ass I wass assked, there wass no fear of me being fed to otherss of my kind." She smirked slightly with a distant look in her eyes. "It wass good time for me... Karenssha may not be able to ever ssee it from my point of view, but I had never been happier. Ssure, her father could be a pain when he got on the mood, but I calmed mysself with the fact that one day I would be big enough that even he would be no conssiderable threat to me. I have grown larger than mosst king cobrass ever can, and that iss ssolely becausse of the old pride of Karenssha and I." It seemed that she was going to say something else, but Karensha's words caught her attention.
"Jabari !! I was about to ask Basilisk where that cave of his was, that him and Sera were sheltering in before, but he took off too fast. You seem to be the one that's been here the longest, do you think you can find it, we need to get these two sheltered as I'm sure the next thing will be lightening followed by a good heavy downpour"
Kabechet's tongue flicked out of her mouth, and she turned to look at Jabari. "Cheetah", she began. "If you wissh, I can try to tasste their sscentss and lead you to the cave, unlessss you know where it iss."
"Alright, well you have some cheetah in you, do you wanna chase one while I intercept it? Just try to keep it going in a large circle or something."
Sera nodded and quickly moved off, making sure she remained hidden in the tall grass all the time. The thundering noises from the distance made her determined to make this hunt succeed quickly, as she had no desire to become wet.
The herd - gazelles she realized now that she was closer - had not noticed her yet. They were restless because of the coming storm, and that didn't please the cheelion. Restless prey was more difficult to surprise...
She shook her head and crouched lower, crawling her way through the grass. Her gaze flickered from one gazelle to another, trying to find the weakest one of the lot.
Then she saw it, a slight limp, and she took her chance. She dashed, pushing forward with all her speed, chasing the gazelle away from the herd and towards where Basilisk was waiting.
(OOC: I edited this post to make Sera's part longer than it was since no one had posted yet.)
Basilisk lay low to the ground as he watched Sera chased the gazelle towards him. He hoped he was hidden well enough that the gazelle wouldn't see him before it was too late, but just in case he adjusted his position so that he was ready to run if it saw him and ran in a different direction.
As they got closer he could see that the gazelle had a slight limp, so it was possible that Sera might catch it even without him. Boy would he feel useful then.
Jabari watched as finally the snow leopards words got through to Meri as she nodded and started to rise from the ground, but before he could reply the snakes words came to him.
"Cheetah....If you wissh, I can try to tasste their sscentss and lead you to the cave, unlessss you know where it iss."
Hesitating for a moment Jabari stared at the creature, trying to guage her sincerity about the situation and then nodded at her, speaking quietly. "It is fine , I know the cave that karensha speaks off, I was the one living here by myself before everyone else trickled in, so know all the nooks and crannies." Turning away once again, he took a few steps in the direction of where he knew the cave to be, stopped when he heard a shuffle behind him, only to find that karensha had picked up the cub by the scruff of his neck and was directly beside the white lioness. Relieved that Meri still had some of her wits about her, the cheetah turned to where Kabechet and Sefu stood. "If you both want shelter, just follow."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Picking up Maji gently, Karensha thought it would be alot safer to just hold him by the scruff of his neck rather than place him on her back incase another crack of thunder or lightening should scare him even further and he fell off or actually jumped off and ran.
"Come on Jabari we need to move, and move fast, I doubt these two could take being out in this storm that's brewing up fast, and once they are settled in the cave, I'm sure you will be staying to watch out for the lioness and then I can go stretch my legs."
Looking up at the darkening sky, Karensha's eyes widened and shone at what she knew was about to happen, and she intended to be out in it, enjoying herself shaking off the past few days events.

"If you both want shelter, just follow."
"No thanks, I think I'll just stay out here and relax."
Sefu looked up in the sky to see that the clouds were still coming and it was surely going to rain tonight. He thought it that he should of followed them but didn't want to here the other lions constant whining when he returned.
"I should be fine out here for tonight, and you should probably hurry up and find those two shelter before it starts raining."

Sera chased the gazelle, and while she did so she heard another thundering sound from the distance. It was louder now. They would need to end the hunt soon, or they'd get wet while returning to the others. She tried to speed up just a bit more, to make her prey even more panicked than it was. Perhaps it would trip over that way, making it easier to catch.
But the creature remained on its feet, and the cheelion knew she couldn't catch it. All she could do now was to put her trust on Basilisk, hoping that he would catch the fleeing gazelle when she could not. And so she continued to chase it, inevitably making the poor animal run closer and closer to where Basilisk was hiding.
Upon hearing Jabari's words, Meri nodded frantically with her ears flattened tight against her skull. She followed the cheetah quickly, eager to get into shelter as soon as possible.
Kabechet, however, was in no hurry to leave. She simply nodded at the cheetah when he declined her offer to help, then turned her gaze on Sefu. Karensha wasn't eager to have her company, so perhaps she could spend some time with this lion instead. She knew the rain would cool her body quite a bit, making her movements lax... But it didn't bother her. She was large enough to not feel threatened even when not on her fullest speed.
Not knowing what to say, the cobra lowered her head slightly, curling her body so that she could keep as much of her current warmth as she could before the downpour would begin.

Jabari pressed forward through the bushes, more lightening cracking open the dark clouds, illuminating the path he was taking. Hearing Meri's laboured breathing so close to him he moved even faster, just a few more steps around the rocks and he'd have them safe.
Pressing close to the cold stone the cheetah turned the corner, just as more drops of rain came tumbling down to meet them. "Quick.. Meri inside you go" Stepping back he allowed her to past , his eyes taking in her stance and the way her ears were pressed flat tight against her head, what he couldn't see was whether her body was shaking once again in fright. Waiting until Karensha was inside as well with the cub, he turned and looked back out, surveying all around him, there was room in the cave for more, but where the others were he didn't know, maybe the lion would bring Sera back here, or maybe they had found shelter elsewhere, but for now those that needed caring for, were being taken care of, Jabari for the first time in a while had found he had a purpose in life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karensha carried Maji firmly trailing closely after the small lioness and the cheetah, heading towards the cave. As she passed Kabechet and Sefu, she wasn't surprised that they both declined the offer of a nights dryness, the lion she sensed wasn't one for closed in spaces, and the snake..well no doubt she had her reasons.
"Kabechet.. seeing you are keeping Sefu company, make sure it's the right sort, I really don't want to wake in the morning to see yourself bound around him tight with just some furballs remaining."
Carrying on, the snow leopard turned and saw the opening of the cave Basilisk had shared with Sera, and then Jabari was ushering in the lioness, who was moving the fastest she had seen her so far, just as another crack of lightening filled the air and hit some place further away. Darting into the cave, Karensha stopped and sniffed the air, wrinkling up her nose in distaste. ' what on earth had basilisk been doing in here, it smells of..eww just smells' Bending down she placed Maji on the ground and then lowered her self beside him, letting her limbs relax and pulled the cub in between her front paws and licked him gently on the top of his small head, reassuring him that he was safe.
Basilisk watched the two get closer and closer to him as he waited for the perfect opportunity to jump up from hiding. The gazelle started inching off to the side rather than directly at him, so he began to move over more. As he moved he stood up a bit too much, and was quickly spotted by the gazelle. Basilisk pushed himself up fully and started chasing after the gazelle without too much trouble, seeing as he was already close enough. He grabbed one of his hind legs, sending it to the ground where he then pounced on it and bit at it's neck until if finally stopped putting up a fight and lay still.
"Quick and easy, just how I like it." Basilisk stated. "Now lets carry this back to the group."
Sera slowed down in relief when Basilisk made the final move to end their hunt. She trotted to him and slowed down, panting rather heavily in an attempt to catch her breath. She was impressed, really, how easily the lion had brought down the gazelle. But then again, she had never really had the chance to hunt with lions before - it had always been completely about speed for her.
"Quick and easy, just how I like it. Now lets carry this back to the group."
His words brought her back from her musings, and she nodded. At the same time she heard yet another sound of thunder, and knew that the storm would be on them very soon. Quickly and wordlessly she moved on to take a hold of the gazelle so that they could begin to move it to the group.
Meri barely registered Jabari's words as she quickly bolted inside the cave. She didn't care of how the cave looked like, nor how it smelt like. She just wanted to get inside, away from the coming storm and the loud noises it was making. She dashed into the furthest corner of the cave, as far away from the entrance as possible. There she laid down, her eyes wide as she stared at the entrance without really seeing it. It seemed that she had locked everything out, just laying there with her whole body flat against the ground, ready to bolt in any direction should she feel threatened.
