"Are we meant to know you by any chance ? I'm sure if you're that hungry we could find you a more...tasty meal?"
The cobra hissed a laugh, opening her maw slightly to smirk at Jabari. "Who ssaid I wass hungry?" she asked and avoided Jabari's question. "If I wass, do you not think I would already have eaten him?"
She glanced at the cub momentarily before turning her attention back at the cheetah. Her forked tongue flicked in and out as she tasted the air for scents, but so far there was nothing new in it. Her hold of the cub was firm, but she wasn't tightening it. He would be no use if he died.
The cobra's head turned sharply when she heard the spotted female speak.
"What do you want...?" Sera asked quietly, glaring at the snake in annoyance.
The snake hissed another laughter and shook her head. "Who knowss", she replied and apparently would have shrugged if she had had the shoulders to do so. "Perhapss I wass ssimply curiouss... Your guard iss lax. Makess me wonder how SShe could have left you in charge of the ssmall one."

"I need to do some things, before I come back, maybe you should just carry on, collect the other one trying to hide at the top of the ridge and go back to the others, see they are all safe, I'll be along in a little while...ok ?"
"Alright," Basilisk said letting out a sigh, "Hurry back though. That cub of yours isn't going to be happy when he see's that it's just me coming back instead of you."
He watched as Karensha walked by him and towards Naheem's body, then he walked to the ledge, jumped down and glanced over at the other lion. After a few moments he turned and began making his way back to the rest of the group.

Sefu just watched what was happening between the three cats now without any real concern. When everything was finally done, he stood up and was ready to go back to the group. Basilisk walked by him and gave him a glance and it seemed like Karensha was going to stay. Turning around, Sefu just followed Basilisk back the way they came from.
"I hope that kid doesn't do anything foolish like running off," He said to Basilisk when he got to the side of him.

Karensha kept moving away from Basilisk and back to where Naheem lay in death, flies swarming over him already. Slowly she walked around his body looking at him from every angle, he really was a magnificent looking male, if you liked that sort, she mused. Sitting down on her rump, she lowered her head and just stared at him and finally all the words she had been saving for years, came tumbling out of her mouth till at last she fell quiet, even exhausted.
Looking back up to the ridge, Karensha saw that the two lions had indeed moved away, yet part of her hoped that maybe they had stayed, just to watch out for her. Shrugging slightly she turned back to Naheem, what she was about to do, others wouldn't understand, but to her, it meant she wasn't at all like the white lion, even though she had just killed him.
Moving off her rump, Karensha started digging with her paws right behind his back and along from top to toe, puffing slightly with exhertion, she finally had the trench. Walking around his body till she reached his front, she leant down and with her shoulders pushed his body over and into the shallow hole and then started covering him , much faster this time until he at last vanished from her sight.
Stepping back, Karensha stretched her neck muscles, turned and walked into the water. Slowly she sank down until the freshness completely covered her and she stayed under as long as she could, till at last she burst back through the ripples and rose in a different spot, and walked out and away towards the ridge, not looking back, leaving another part of her life beind forever that she never had to worry about again.

Jabari stood there on guard, but kept his body in a relaxed state, would be no good to antagonise the snake, while it was so securely wrapped around Maji, but at least it wasn't hungry, so the cheetah took one more step closer, and then stopped himself.
"Perhapss I wass ssimply curiouss... Your guard iss lax. Makess me wonder how SShe could have left you in charge of the ssmall one."
Listening intently, Jabari picked up on the snakes words. " SHE ?" Turning his head quickly he looked at Sera sharply "Do you have something to do with this, why the cub is like that?"

Maji let a little gasp of air as suddenly he was wrapped around by some big worm thing. He could't move at all and he was dangling where he was, there was little he could do, if he bit the worm creature it might eat him and then he'd be stuck inside it. He just had to wait for others to resolve the problem for him.

As Basilisk continued to walk, part of him wanted to stay and see what Karensha was doing. He was curious, but reminded himself it's probably none of his business. If she wanted him to stay and see what she was doing then she would have said so.
"I hope that kid doesn't do anything foolish like running off,"
"Doubtful," Basilisk replied to the lion who was now next to him. "Why do you keep calling us kids anyway? You know our names, and it would be best if you called us by them."

" SHE ?"
Sera visibly flinched when Jabari suddenly turned his attention at her.
"Do you have something to do with this, why the cub is like that?"
The cheelion glared back at the cheetah, then snorted and turned her glare at the snake who, by the looks of it, was enjoying the whole situation.
"Pray tell, Jabari, why the heck would I want Karensha's wrath upon me?" she asked rather coldly, then motioned towards the snake with her paw. "The leopard already hates me enough, whacha thing she'd do if I arranged something like this."
The cheelion shook her head and sighed, taking a look at Meri as she did. The white lioness seemed to be frozen again, staring at the large snake in horror. Said snake was giving them a wide smirk with its maw slightly open, and Sera couldn't help but wonder once again what it was that the snake wanted.

Karensha kept walking till she was at the top of the ridge and found her paws had come to a stop. Looking to the left and then to the right, her mind started throwing her off course. ' Should I go back to the others, they don't really know me, doubt it would bother them very much if I didn't come back, Maji would settle down with that new lioness, I haven't got much to offer them ... maybe I should just keep travelling around, that way they'll all be safe as whenever I get close to anyone, they seem to end up maimed or dead.'
Slowly Karensha slid to the ground, her stomach pressed against the soil, and her head resting on her front paws, she closed her eyes and tried to relax her body, wondering what to do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Pray tell, Jabari, why the heck would I want Karensha's wrath upon me?, The leopard already hates me enough, whacha think she'd do if I arranged something like this."
His gaze still upon the cheelion, Jabari started suddenly. " well if it's not you she's referring too, and it's definetely not Meri, that leaves the only option as Karensha." Turning back , his eyes fell on the lioness who hadn't moved and was looking like a frightened animal that realised it was about to be someone's dinner, and by the look on her face, she had well and truly retreated back inside her self. Moving to the side, Jabari made sure he didn't look at the cobra, but kept his eyes firmly on Meri, then raising his voice he spoke to her calmly.
"MERI... It's me Jabari, everything is fine, the snakes not going to hurt you, I think it's waiting for Karensha to show up for some reason...MERI... step away and come to me...NOW"
"well if it's not you she's referring too, and it's definetely not Meri, that leaves the only option as Karensha."
The snake hissed another of her laughters and nodded approvingly with her head. It seemed that the cheetah was at least somewhat clever. However, she didn't say anything, only continued to give an open-mouthed smirk at the cats.
"MERI... It's me Jabari, everything is fine, the snakes not going to hurt you, I think it's waiting for Karensha to show up for some reason...MERI... step away and come to me...NOW"
The white lioness literally jumped when Jabari's voice reached her, and she turned her frightened stare at the cheetah. For a moment it seemed like she'd sprint away from the group that very moment, but after a blink of her eyes and a quick glance at the large snake, the lioness suddenly dashed towards Jabari and stopped only when she had gotten to him. She laid down at the ground behind the cheetah, resting herself as close to the ground as she could with her ears flattened against her skull and her face completely hidden by her long, blue hair.
"Why do you keep calling us kids anyway? You know our names, and it would be best if you called us by them."
"Why would I want to say your entire name? Just seems like more work." Sefu knew that calling this lion kid bothered him, which was the main reason he kept calling him it. He then began to wonder if the leopard was actually going back to the group or not. Suddenly coming to a stop, he turned around and started walking the other way.
"I'm going to check if you're right about the leopard."
"Why would I want to say your entire name? Just seems like more work."
"Too much work to say a name? That's pathetic."
He understood why he stole the kill before from him and Sera. He was too lazy to do it himself.
"It's a wonder he's still alive." Basilisk thought to himself.
"I'm going to check if you're right about the leopard."
As the lion turned around and began walking back, Basilisk stopped for a second. He was sure that she wouldn't leave, she wouldn't leave the cub. The more he thought about it though, the more he thought that there was a possibility of her actually leaving. Basilisk decided to go check as well. There wasn't anyone waiting for him by the water anyway. He wanted to find out more about her history, especially now that he had seen and helped with the killing of Naheem. He couldn't find anything out if she left.
Jabari breathed a small sigh of relief when Meri scampered past him and hid behind his large body, he could hear her small pants as she lay there trying not to be seen by the cobra. Looking over at Sera, the cheetah then turned his gaze back to the snake, his eyes taking in the cubs distress at being manhandled so badly. Sitting on his rump, Jabari stared at her, looking her over.
"You know...you may as well let him go, we don't know how long Karensha will be, she took off after some noises she heard, she seemed almost paranoid about it. I think you know that we can't move fast enough to do you any damage, so why don't you wait in comfort as well?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karensha lay there lost in her thoughts, back to the time when Naheem and her father used to take her out for 'training', the days and nights when they left her alone in those pits, the things that the lion did to her in the line of duty, things that everyone was too scared to rebuke him for, how she hated him to the bone, yet he was now dead, lying behind her a rotting carcuss.... she thought she should be feeling jubilation, she just wasn't sure what she was feeling.
Ok Naheem was gone he couldn't track her down anymore, would her father leave it at that or would he send more out after her, he didn't have a heir now, would the others take advantage of that fact if neither of them were to return, why was she really thinking about it, she had got away from it all and didn't want to go back..or did she.
Karensha's nose started to twitch, she could smell lion nearly upon her. Her mind jumped to the conclusion that she hadn't really killed Naheem, even though she had 'buried' him, he had come back to finish her off. Jumping to her feet, her claws unsheathed, a low growl left her mouth, she didn't bother to look she just rotated her body and launched herself at whoever was behind her, with her teeth bared in a snarl.

Sefu kept wandering back to where they had left Karensha hoping she didn't run off. The surrounding was starting to look familiar to where he left and he knew that it wasn't much farther. He could see that the leopard now and saw that she was laying down on the ground. Approching her, she suddenly jumped up which took Sefu by surprise.
He didn't want to hurt Karensha and so he let her tackle him. His front paws were keeping her from biting him while his back legs were on her stomach using her momentum to flip her over. Sefu had Karensha pinned on the ground, but remembered what kind of damaged she did when the other lion on top of her. Quickly getting off of her, Sefu took a few step backs to makes space between them before she got up.
"Relax kid, I didn't come here to fight you." He exclaimed with slight irritation. "You probably shouldn't be jumping around like that or you might injure yourself further."
Sitting down, Sefu hoped that the leopard listened to him and relaxed a bit.

Karensha hit into a warm body and rolled with him, she was just bringing up a claw to his throat, when she realised that whoever it was, wasn't fighting back, all they seemed to be doing was restraining her with their feet pressed against her stomach. She knew how to get out of that situation but held herself still, breathing rapidly trying to snap back to reality.
Bringing up a paw, she wiped away the fur that had stuck to forehead and face from the sweat that had dripped down, just as she heard him speak. "Relax kid, I didn't come here to fight you, You probably shouldn't be jumping around like that or you might injure yourself further.".
Shaking her head again, Karensha stared, her vision clearing and she saw clearly who it was standing back from her, and it wasn't Naheem. It was the one who had spoken to her when she was lying by the waterhole. Staring at him she took in his cream coloured fur complimented with a shaggy brown mane, and there was that intriguing hook shaped scar on one of his cheeks.
Lowering her lashes half way, Karensha's cheeks coloured at knowing she had attacked an innocent while still, it seemed dazed by her thoughts. " I apologise for how I just behaved, you surprised me, I didn't think you and Basilisk were around, I presumed.... well I thought you two had walked off after all that had happened... I thought I was alone."

As Basilisk walked back to where Karensha was with the other lion, he realized that he hadn't learned his name yet. Not that he cared though, he was hoping that he would just leave soon.
As they approached the spot they came from, the lion beside him was suddenly pounced on by Karensha, but she was quickly kicked off.
"I apologise for how I just behaved, you surprised me, I didn't think you and Basilisk were around, I presumed.... well I thought you two had walked off after all that had happened... I thought I was alone."
"We wanted to make sure you weren't running off on us, but I guess since your still here we had nothing to worry about."
As Basilisk looked around, he realized that Naheem's body had disappeared.
"So, what did you do with the corpse?"

"We wanted to make sure you weren't running off on us, but I guess since your still here we had nothing to worry about."
Hearing another voice, her head turned sharply at his words. "Basilisk, you're here as well... what do you mean running off on us. If I want to leave I shall and no one will stop me, gone are the days when I had to obey every little order and do what others wanted, I think and do things for myself now, especially now."
Karensha stopped speaking, realising she was starting to sound churlish, and afterall it was Basilisk that helped her get rid of some of her past baggage. "So, what did you do with the corpse?"
Blinking the snow leopard looked at Basilisk and then Sefu, who was sitting quietly watching her. "Naheem is buried in the same spot where his blood ran free, I just covered him up..that's all, and don't ask me why, it's just something I did." Rising to her paws Karensha moved a few paces so she could stare down at the slight mound rising from the ground, it was still untouched, she had stupidly panicked for no reason.. it seemed that Naheem was well and truly dead.
Pausing for a moment, her tongue came out and licked over her lips, moistening them , ready to ask something awkward. " Do you really want me to come back with you, the others could take care of the cub, he'd get used to me not being there, after all we haven't been together that long now. And.. what happened here might happen again, I've no assurances that my father will leave things as it is, when he realises that for whatever reason Naheem didn't return, and neither have I. Do you want someone among you, that could bring death to your door?"
Turning her back on them once more Karensha stood there gazing at the water, not realising that her shoulders had drooped and her tail wasn't swinging around, it was almost one of defeat, yet she had just gained something more.

Basilisk raised an eyebrow as she spoke, and realized she took his comment differently than he meant it.
"Do you really want me to come back with you, the others could take care of the cub, he'd get used to me not being there, after all we haven't been together that long now. Basilisk thought about it for a second, and realized that she had a few points. After a few moments of silence, Basilisk spoke up.
"Well, I think it would be better if you came back... safer too. If your father sent out more to look for you, like you say he might, then it would be better if you had some help instead of taking them on by yourself if they found you. I'm not saying you aren't a good fighter or anything, but fight after fight after fight will start to wear you down, and if you are up against a group then the odds are against you. If you came with us, I'm sure a few in the group would be willing to help, plus I have that cave you can go to if you need a hideout.
Basilisk paused for a minute so Karnesha could think about what he had said.
"Besides, that cub of yours hates me."

The snow leopard stood there her eyes still on the water as it always did seem to draw her attention, something she loved that was at odds with what she was.
With her back still to both lions, she knew it was Basilisk that spoke, as his voice was slightly higher in pitch than Sefu's laid back one, seemed he had put thought into his answer of her question. 'If you came with us, I'm sure a few in the group would be willing to help'
"perhaps.... but before I stay I think it had better be asked of the cheelion, Jabari and that new lioness, and what of you Sefu, if it ever happens, do you feel like fighting my battles?" Slowly turning around she looked first at Basilisk. "Oh yes and that cave... the cave you mean that you are sharing with Sera ?.. I think not."
Moving her gaze onto the dark maned lion, Karensha stared at him meeting his eyes. "Well Sefu, what do you think about me returning ?"

Sefu was just starting to relax Since the other two were doing all of the talking. He listened to the two as they seemed to dicuss whether or not Karensha should stay.
".. and what of you Sefu, if it ever happens, do you feel like fighting my battles?" "I'd fight, but that's because I enjoy fighting." Sefu said while shrugging his shoulders. The next thing he knew, the leopard was staring at his eyes.
"Well Sefu, what do you think about me returning ?"
"What I think shouldn't really matter since I'm the newest one here." He moved his gaze so he wasn't staring back at Karnesha. "But I guess I could understand why you would want to leave. You probably don't want the others to get hurt by others who are after her, but I'm sure this kid here is willing to try and protect you all since he was already willing to help you fight whoever that other lion was. So my thoughts on this would be to stay and keep the cub company since he's closest to you as far as I know."

"and what of you Sefu, if it ever happens, do you feel like fighting my battles?"
"Ah, so his name is Sefu." Basilisk thought to himself.
"Oh yes and that cave... the cave you mean that you are sharing with Sera ?.. I think not."
Basilisk rolled his eyes at her comment.
"No, I mean the cave that I offered to everybody, including you and the cheetah. Sera was the only one who accepted. Besides, she didn't stay. After our kill was stolen..." He paused for a moment and looked over at Sefu, and then back to Karensha, "...She ran off and didn't come back until morning. Anyway, I'm trying to help you here, but you keep waving off everything I offer."
