"The bed is yours by the way. I'm just going to grab a few pillows from it."
She laughed quietly and gave him a smile. "If you insist. I did mean it though when I said I can sleep on the floor. You sort of get used to rough surfaces after a while in the forest."
She too stood up then and stretched, then her smile grew to a tiny grin. "Not that I am complaining."

"It'd be rude of me to make you sleep on the floor. Besides, it's time you had a break from sleeping on rough surfaces."
Terryn grabbed a few pillows off his bed so that he at least had something for his head. He tossed one at the already sleeping Kaden as well in case he woke up and wanted it.
He placed his pillow on the floor and lay down. He was on his back with his eyes staring at the ceiling, thinking about all that had happened. Before too long his fatigue had gotten the better of him and he fell asleep.

"It'd be rude of me to make you sleep on the floor. Besides, it's time you had a break from sleeping on rough surfaces."
She didn't say anything, but she was glad that she did get to sleep in a bed for a change. She watched Terryn grab a few pillows from the bed, and toss one of them at Kaden. She was unable to hold back the giggle at that. As childish as it may be, she found the idea of tossing anything at Kaden hilarious. Not to mention tossing brought back some nice memories of throwing rocks at patrols.
She shook her head with a chuckle as she made her way to the bed. She took off her boots and laid down, grateful of the soft surface to sleep on. She sighed contently, and soon enough she was indeed fast asleep.

Terryn woke up quite early, as he usually did, just as the sun was beginning to rise. Neither Casri nor Kaden were up yet, so Terryn, as quietly as he could, walked to his weapon stash to grab his bow and a couple of arrows. He exited the house and walked around to the back where he had the targets set up, figuring that a bit of practice would give him something to do while he waited for the other two to get up.

Kaden woke up when he heard a door close suddenly. He didn't know how he ended up on the floor or why there was a pillow by him, but he got up slowly and walked outside to see that Terryn was outside. Walking over to see that Terryn was practicing with his bow, Kaden knew that he would have to go to town.
"I guess I should probably start making my way to town," he said half asleep while walking in the way he thought town was. Walking for a bit though, he realized he was going the opposite way back to town and turned around. "My bad, town's that way." He then started to make his way back to town to get his blades sharpened or maybe just get new ones.

Casri had slept peacefully through the night. She was half conscious already, but though her brains registered the quiet sounds of movement in the house, she didn't completely wake up. It took her a couple of more minutes before she lazily opened her eyes, and by that point the sun was already up. She blinked, then yawned widely as she sat up on the bed, streching slightly. She was only half surprised to find herself alone in the house.
With another yawn she pushed herself up on her feet and walked to the pantry, looking for breakfast. Deciding to have something light, she picked up a few more carrots as well as something that turned out to be a dried apple. She ate the apple first, enjoying the sugary taste, before she put on her boots and cloak and went outside.
She frowned at the chill of the morning, wrapping her cloak tighter around herself with her free hand as she nibbled on the carrot. She spotted Kaden walking from behind the house and heading towards the town. Somehow she got the feeling that Terryn was behind the house as well, and - curious - she quietly walked around the building. When she saw him hold a bow she paused, leaning her shoulder against the wall while she quietly continued eating her breakfast. She might as well see how long it'd take Terryn to notice her, and while she was at it she might get some idea of how good Terryn had gotten with the bow after the lessons he had given her a long time ago.

Terryn hadn't brought many arrows out with him, so it didn't take long before he had shot them all and began to make his way over to collect them. The arrows had stuck in pretty good so it took a little bit of effort for him to take them out, be he got them all eventually.
He turned around to walk back to where he stood before and saw Casri standing there leaning against the house.
"Morning Casri. I see you've already found some breakfast."

"Morning Casri. I see you've already found some breakfast."
She chuckled quietly. "Good morning to you as well."
She ate the remaining of her carrot, then motioned towards the archery target. "You still shoot well, you know."
She frowned, wrapping her cloak tighter around herself with both of her arms. "Am I imagining or is it colder than usually?"

Kaden was still half asleep when he made it to the town that was half destroyed by the dragon. He just walked down the streets trying to find the place Terryn told him about hoping that it wasn't one of the ruined buildings. Noticing the villagers, Kaden saw that they were glaring at him, probably because of the dragon incident.
It didn't take to long for Kaden to find the blacksmith and he got lucky to see that the building was still standing. Walking straight to the guy, He set his daggers on the table that the owner was standing at.
"I need these sharpened," he told the blacksmith before the blacksmith pushed the daggers back at him and said he wouldn't do the job, still angry about the dragon ruining his village. Kaden let out a sigh, being too tired to try and persuade the guy to do the job he wants.
Kaden walked out of the store after staying in there for awhile with his self-sharpened blades. It probably wasn't nice what he did to the blacksmith, but he didn't care since the guy wouldn't do his job and the guy would be back up in no time anyways. Kaden then started to make his way back to Terryn's hut.

"You still shoot well, you know."
"I did a lot of archery in my military days, as you know. After a lesson I'd find you and teach you what I had learned that day."
"Am I imagining or is it colder than usually?"
"You get used to it after living here for a while. I've always preferred cold rather than hot anyway."
Terryn looked around them to see if Kaden was there, but he couldn't see him. He figured Kaden probably went into town to see if he could find a place to sharpen his blades.
"So, have you decided whether you want to stay here a bit longer or leave right away?"

"You get used to it after living here for a while. I've always preferred cold rather than hot anyway."
Casri nodded. She didn't like the cold too much, but she had to admit it was preferable to hot weather. Besides, she was certain that once they left Snowtops, the weather would become warmer.
"So, have you decided whether you want to stay here a bit longer or leave right away?"
She cringed slightly. "To be honest, I have no idea", she replied. "Now that I have actually gotten the chance to sleep properly, leaving as soon as possible does not seem so important."
She paused, thinking. "What would you suggest?"

"What would you suggest?"
Terryn thought for a few moments as he pondered the pros and cons of staying.
"Well, if we stay then there is a chance that the villagers could become suspicious of both you and Kaden. If that happens then they could figure out who you two are. That, and the fact that the dragon could possibly come back for Kaden. But, if we stayed then we would have my house here for shelter and I have a lot of food. Plus I know this town well and know where to get supplies that we might happen to need."
Terryn paused for a few more moments as he now thought about the ups and downs of leaving.
"If we leave then none of the people here will ever know who you are and the dragon isn't necessarily going to know where to find Kaden, but we will have to pay for rooms at inns and for food. People in the cities we go to might want to figure out who the new people are coming into town, possibly exposing you and Kaden. We could also come across highway men while we travel."

Casri listened in silence as Terryn spoke of the good and bad points of both staying and leaving. She was fairly silent after he had finished as she thought of what he had said.
Finally she shook her head slightly and chuckled. "So it all pretty much comes down to whether or not the dragon returns and if anyone here will recognize me or Kaden. After yesterday, I do not think it will take them long, at least with Kaden. We might be better of leaving soon."
She paused, glancing towards the town. "Did Kaden go there...?" she asked. "It might be good to ask him how people reacted to him..."

"Did Kaden go there...? It might be good to ask him how people reacted to him..."
"We'll ask him when he gets back. As long as he didn't do anything to bring himself attention we should be fine."
Terryn turned back and shot a few arrows into the target again.
"Want to have a little archery competition while we wait?"

"Want to have a little archery competition while we wait?"
Casri grinned. "Why not. Give me a moment to get my bow."
She turned around and walked around the house. She stepped inside and grabbed her bow and quiver before returning outside, walking around the house again.
"So how shall we do this competition of yours, then?" she asked when she reached Terryn.

"So how shall we do this competition of yours, then?"
"Well, as you can see, my target has 4 rings and a center circle. The center circle will be worth 5 points, the ring after it will be worth 4, the ring after that will be worth 3, and so on. We'll each shoot 5 arrows on the same target and who ever gets the most points will win the round. Who ever wins the most rounds when Kaden returns is the winner."
Terryn ran over to the target to get the arrows he shot and then ran back.
"Do you want to go first, or shall I?"

Casri nodded with a slightly excited smile. She hadn't gotten to properly compete with her archery skills before. She had a vague memory that she might have done something similar to this with Terryn when they both had still lived in New Westminster, but she had a faint idea that he had purposefully missed the target from time to time.
"Do you want to go first, or shall I?"
"You can go first," she replied.

Kaden kept walking through the forest to get to Terryn's house until he finally made it. He saw that the two were about to have a little competition of shooting arrows at the target. Instead of ruining their fun, he just decided to stay back in the trees and watch for a bit.

Terryn got into position to shoot at the target, when he saw Kaden arriving back at the house. He shot the arrow, which hit just outside the center circle.
"4 points for me," Terryn said, "And oh look! Kaden's back. Game over. Looks like I win."

"4 points for me. And oh look! Kaden's back. Game over. Looks like I win."
Casri narrowed her eyes at Terryn. She couldn't argue with him, Kaden had returned and they had agreed to go on until he'd return.
"So it seems", she said, glancing at Kaden's direction. "Well, since you won, you will not mind if I do this, will you?"
She notched an arrow and released it, watching with some measure of satisfaction as it hit the centre circle. She flashed a smile at Terryn, before turning to look at Kaden.
"So how was town?" she asked with a pleasant voice.
