"Whoops, I hope I didn't interrupt anything. Oh are we planning a vacation now?" "We are planning how I can keep a hold of my life. Your attitude is definitely not helping."
"Have anything you wish to contribute that's helpful?" He asked Kaden.
"Once we reach Sondista, we can also see what the situation is like. If they do trace me here, and manage to follow there, it might be possible to catch a ship and sail to Ythus. Though that would be just as risky as continuing by land, considering the amount of dragons that the king somehow has managed to get on his side."
"Well for now let's just head to Sondista. Once we get there we can decide further. I think we should stay here for a day or two more still. I can teach you how to use some of these other weapons, as well as freshen up your abilities with the bow. The people here know me well and they trust me, they don't suspect that anyone in my house would be anyone with a bounty."

Casri leaned back on her chair with a thoughtful expression. "If... you think it is safe", she agreed after a moment. "I might be over reacting slightly, but that dragon made me nervous."
She glanced at Kaden. She hadn't meant to say this aloud but it seemed that she would anyway. "Think what you wish", she said, "but I do not believe you 'scared off' that dragon. They are persistent creatures once they set their minds on something, and I fear she might return."

"If... you think it is safe. I might be over reacting slightly, but that dragon made me nervous."
"The dragon wasn't looking for you. All it cared about was Kaden, so you don't need to worry about it. But, if you still feel uncomfortable being here by tomorrow evening, then we'll leave the next morning."
Terryn got up from his seat and folded the map up. He placed it on top of his cloak and walked over to his weapon stash.
"Care to show me your skills with the bow? I've got some targets out back. We can see how accurate and quick you are."
He then turned to Kaden.
"Do you know how to use one of these? If so, then I'd like to see what you can do with one as well."

Kaden just stood around as the other two were talking about what to do and where to go for safety. He knew that he should probably give some suggestions but he didn't feel like it. The weapons on the other side of the room was what kept his attention until Terryn spoke to him.
"Do you know how to use one of these? If so, then I'd like to see what you can do with one as well."
"Nope," Kaden replied in a cheerful voice, "I never really had to use one when I could just shoot a bolt lightning." Looking down at the map, he examined all the spots that the two were planning to run off to. "I don't know if it is helpful or not, but you two won't have to worry about me too much about paying for my traveling expences, I'll just find my own way to those spots."

Casri chuckled as she got up from her chair, grabbing her bow. It amused her how much this reminded her of the old days when Terryn would hold her one of those archery lessons. Not that she complained. If there was anything Terryn could teach her, she would gladly become a student once again.
"I never really had to use one when I could just shoot a bolt lightning."
Casri glanced at Kaden. "What if your opponent is resistant or can somehow block your lightning?" she asked while preparing to go out again. "Ever thought of that?"

"Well, I wasn't worried about it, but I guess that's good to know now."
He opened the door and walked out, carrying with him a bow and some arrows. He motioned Casri to follow him to the back of the house. Once there, 3 targets came into view.
"Alright Casri, let us see how close you can get to the center."

"What if your opponent is resistant or can somehow block your lightning? Ever thought of that?"
Kaden just smiled when the princess tried to poke holes in his battle strategy "I have and it would just make the fight more fun if that happens, but if it does happen I guess I'll just have to use my blades." When he saw Terryn walk to the door, Kaden became curious of how well these two can shoot an arrow. "I've gotta see this. I never imagined a princess to be able to do something warriors and assassins do."

Casri followed Terryn to the practice targets. She examined them for a moment, deciding she'd take the leftmost one.
"Alright Casri, let us see how close you can get to the center." "I've gotta see this. I never imagined a princess to be able to do something warriors and assassins do."
She did her best to hide the smile that threatened to come on her face, but she couldn't help the slight upwards twitching of the corners of her mouth. With calm, yet fairly swift movements she took one of the arrows from her quiver, notched, aimed and fired. She didn't wait to see where the arrow hit when she was already reached for a second arrow. She repeated the process a couple of times, until she had shot five arrows.
She was rather pleased with herself. While all the arrows might not have hit the bullseye, they were very close. "So, Terryn", she said with an innocent tone as she turned to look at the two men with a small grin. "Will I finally get the honour of shooting apples off your head?"

Terryn watched Casri shoot 5 arrows at the target, all of them incredibly close to the center. The arrow that was furthest away was still touching the outside of the red center circle.
"So, Terryn, will I finally get the honour of shooting apples off your head?"
"I'm impressed." Terryn said "I must be a better teacher than I thought."
He then turned to Kaden.
"Can you stand still and balance an apple on your head by any chance?"

"Can you stand still and balance an apple on your head by any chance?"
"I've got a better idea." Kaden the walked over to where the target Casri was just aiming at and stood facing her. "I'm willing to bet that can't hit me with an arrow, and hey, if you win you won't have to deal with me anymore."

"I'm willing to bet that can't hit me with an arrow, and hey, if you win you won't have to deal with me anymore."
Casri's smile vanished. Instead of replying she just walked past Kaden to her target and began plucking the arrows off of it. "As tempting as getting rid of you might be", she told Kaden flatly, "I will do no such thing. I can hit a moving target just fine. I would have starved to death before getting here if I could not."

"Well then, I guess we can skip the bow lessons now. Hold on, I'll be back in a second."
Terryn ran back into the house and over to his weapon stash. He looked at the selection and found some daggers. He picked up 4 and ran back outside to the back of the house.
"Ever tried dual wielding daggers? It will be useful to you when using the bow is not an option."

"I will do no such thing. I can hit a moving target just fine. I would have starved to death before getting here if I could not."
"Fine by me I guess, but that just ruins all the fun."
When Kaden looked over at Terryn, it seemed like he ran back to his house to grab something. When he did return, he brought a few daggers with him that Kaden inspected at a distance before pullig his out.
"Ah daggers, my weapon of choice. They are great when you can get really close to your opponent and quick enough to be able to dodge his moevs aswell." He then got in a fighting stance almost resembling a boxers stance and holding he blades in a reverse grip. Throwing a few punches, he showed impressive speed without even going all out with his punches. "My style is a little hard for people to train in, so you should probably learn from that him instead of me."

Casri shook her head, watching then as Kaden showed some of this moves. "Father would have never let me", she said, answering Terryn's question. "You must remember how difficult it was to persuade him to let me take up archery."
She turned to look at the daggers Terryn was holding with a thoughtful expression. "What if... my enemy has something that will reach much further than I could with daggers? Would I not have a disadvantage then if I let them too close to be taken out with a bow?"

"Father would have never let me. You must remember how difficult it was to persuade him to let me take up archery."
"I believe that," he replied, "which is why I'll teach you now."
"What if... my enemy has something that will reach much further than I could with daggers? Would I not have a disadvantage then if I let them too close to be taken out with a bow?"
"Technically yes, but we will make up for that. I'll teach you how to move quickly to avoid attacks, or how to defend against them if you can't get out of the way fast enough. I will also show you where to strike and how to realize when and opportunity to attack arises. It will take a while so we'll continually practice while we travel."

Casri listened quietly as Terryn answered her question. She eyed the daggers Terryn was holding for a moment before she nodded in agreement. She was rather hesitant to put her bow away, as it was currently her only means to defend herself, but she knew she needed to do this, and that she couldn't cling on to the bow forever.
So, she placed the bow to lean against the wall of Terryn's house, then approached Terryn with a fairly calm expression. She felt the familiar feeling of slight excitement that she remembered from the days that she had been learning archery. Yes, maybe this would actually be just as fun as those lessons had been.

Terryn handed 2 of the daggers over to Casri.
"I'll just show you basics today. Later on we'll get more in depth with attacks and defenses."
And so the lesson began. Terryn showed Casri different ways of holding to daggers to see which way she preferred, and then taught her some basic maneuvers based on that. He showed her stances, as well as basic attacks and defenses.
By the time the lessons were finished and Casri had a pretty good grasp in the techniques, it was already sunset. Terryn was pretty hungry and assumed the other two was well.
"I've got some food inside if you two are hungry."

"I've got some food inside if you two are hungry."
Casri nodded. "I know I am."
She shifted the daggers to one hand as she walked ahead to the house and grabbed her bow where she had left it earlier. She was going through the lesson in her mind, trying to determine how well it had gone. While she admitted that she had learned quite a bit, she knew it was far from enough. So for now, she would have to rely on her aim and speed and take out anyone who might attack her before they got too close.

Kaden got bored halfway through the other's training session and decided to lay down unde one of the trees. He just watched them train, trying to pick out every flaw in their style of fighting. With the princess, She had many flaws that kaden was able to spot out easily but Terryn had fewer since it seemed that he had more advanced training.
When they were ready for a break, Kaden got up quickly when Terryn mentioned food. "Yay, I'm starving. Hopefully you've got plenty of food in there or you two might be out of luck."

"Yay, I'm starving. Hopefully you've got plenty of food in there or you two might be out of luck."
"I'm used to having a lot of guests over, so I have plenty of food."
He lead to the two inside the house and sat himself down at the table.
"Most of my food is kept in there," he said pointing to the pantry, "you can grab anything you want and as much as you want. We won't be here for much longer so I'd rather not have too much of this food to go to waste."
