Description:
Usawa is a somewhat stocky looking cub with brown spots all over him. His toes are the same brown color as his spots. Part of his tail tuft is braided with a silver ring holding the braid in place. Atatched to the silver ring is a feather (representing lightness/ low density) similar in color to Usawas fur including brown spots. In addition to the feather, he has an earring on his left ear with a small, grey pebble hanging from it (representing heaviness/ high density). His eyes are brown and he has a tuft of dark brown fur on the top of his head.
Special abilities:
#1 - Density control – Usawa has the ability to control the density of an object. In other words, he can make an object lighter or heavier. This includes living things.
Example 1. Usawa could make a rock so heavy that it would begin sinking into the ground.
Example 2. Usawa could make a rock so light that it would begin to float in mid air.
While he is able to make objects lighter and heavier, Usawa is not able to determine the direction that an object will go. He may make a stone float in the air but he can not make the stone go in a determined direction.
#2 - Density sensation – This is a 6th sense that Usawa has. He is able to determine the general weight of anything around him. Even if he is not able to smell, hear or see something, he may be able to sense it through this ability. This sense allows him to know the weight of something but if he is not able to see it (perhaps the object is behind him or something is obscuring his view of the object) it is difficult for him to know the size of the object. He is able to sense density of objects within about a 20 to 30-meter radius.
Strengths:
Usawa has used his abilities all the time so he has perfected what he knows he can do with them. However, he continues to experiment with his abilities.
Within Usawas density sensation range, his ability to control density increases but only a little bit and especially if he can see the object.
Weaknesses:
Usawa usually must have some focus on what he is controlling the density of. If he is controlling the density of one object, the task is very simple for him but as the quantity or size of the item increases, the more he has to focus.
More focus is required to only control the density of parts of an object (e.g. only a specific branch on a tree).
He can only control the density of what he can see. The exception to this is if the object is within his density sensation range of 20 to 30 meters.
Usawas density sense is limited by the fact that he cannot necessarily determine the size of an object if he cannot see it. Outside of a 20-30 meter radius, Usawa is not able to sense the density of objects.
Usawa is not able to make himself heavier or lighter.
Behavior:
Usawa is a lighthearted, playful cub. He enjoys entertaining himself, usually using his abilities to do so. He has become used to being alone but enjoys company too. He likes helping others especially if he can use his abilities to do so.
In spite of the fact that he is usually used to being alone, sometimes the feeling of solitude hits him and he becomes sad. This is the only time he feels slightly heavier and is not sure if that is normal or if it is due to his abilities.
Sometimes, objects around him are affected depending on his mood. When Usawa is angry, objects around him tend to become heavier and when he is happy, objects around him tend to become lighter. When he sleeps, Usawa sometimes awakes to find stones floating and plants waving in the air as if being pulled out of the ground.
Usawas abilities have made it easy for him to find and catch food.
History:
Usawa doesn’t remember his parents or how and where he got his abilities. His only conclusion is that he lost his memory after he attained his abilities. This is probably also how he got the feather and pebble that are attached to his ear and tail. Though he would like to meet his parents some day, he doesn’t know where he would begin so he doesn’t bother looking. Instead he hopes that one day, he may meet them any way.
