Karensha stopped where she was when she felt something pull the carcess to a stop. Looking around her gaze settled on his dreadlocks first then rose to his face. "yes ?"
"If you really don't have any place to go, I guess you two could come with me.... if you want." Still watching him closely as he started to walk away, she bought out a paw and placed it on the carcass as she wasn't sure if he was going to take it away with him. " you guess ?.... don't worry, we'll go back to where we came from."
Turning her head towards Maji, she softened her voice "Keep hanging on, we'll be back to rest soon" Not looking to see if the lion was still waiting for her, she once again opened her mouth and sank her teeth into the flesh, her jaw grimacing a bit at the bite she took and started to drag the meat back to the waterhole.

Sera just kept examining the cave, even when Basilisk asked whether she would come for one last drink or not. The cheelion heard Basilisk walk away, and she sighed faintly and closed her eyes. How delightful it was to be left alone for a moment. This... group she had ran into seemed nice enough, but she had been alone for so long that a moment alone felt relieving.
Question was, what would she do now. Sera opened her eyes and stared into the depths of the cave. She could leave, no one would be there to stop her... Or she could stay, sleep in a cave for once, and see what she would do later on.
The cheelion smiled faintly and flicked her tail. The later one of the options sounded better for now. She walked deeper into the cave, and found a nice spot in one of the far corners. She laid down there into the darkness, and rested her head on her paws. Then she just remained staring at the cave entrance, wondering whether Basilisk would return with others or not.
The white lioness' ears flicked when she heard a quiet thump from close by. She froze completely, not sure whether or not to face the stranger or flee right away. With what ever courage she still had left she lifted her head to examine the stranger. To her surprise she saw a cheetah. The cheetah looked... horrified, or perhaps it was surprised, when he saw her face. She flattened her ears slightly, and turned her head away to cover her face with her hair. She wasn't sure what she looked like at the moment... She hadn't had the courage to look at her reflection for quite a while. She knew the scar on her face and the blind eye on their own were horrible enough to look at, and she was fairly sure she had smaller wounds on her face. The wounds had healed, and were hidden, but the fur was probably still red from the dried blood.
She didn't know what she should have done. The cheetah's presence was bothering her slightly, especially when he was staring at her so much. But she didn't dare to leave either, so she just stood there with her face hidden behind her hair.

"you guess ?.... don't worry, we'll go back to where we came from."
"Alright," Basilisk replied, "Suit yourself."
He was slightly relieved that he didn't have to bring anyone back with him. There would be a lot more room now anyway. He watched them continue on a little, and then left in the opposite direction back to his cave. It was pretty dark by now, and it was harder to see where he was going. He stumbled over a couple tree roots, but eventually made it back to the cave. As he entered he saw Sera in a corner staring at the entrance, as if she were expecting others to have come with him.
"It's just me" He told her.
He walked to the corner opposite to the one where Sera was, and laid down. He turned his head over to her and began to speak.
"So, have you put any thought towards what you're going to do?"

"Come Maji... time to hang on tight again.. be king of the jungle for me, while I drag this fresh meat back to where we were before."
Maji was put on Karenshas shoulders once again. As he got himself comfortable up on her back, Maji thought about the words she had just said. 'be king of the jungle'. It was hard for him to imagine being strong and courageous. It seemed all he could remember for a while was running and hiding and barely being able to lift himself up. But he was strong when he was on her shoulders as if raised up to more than he could be. Maji straitened up a bit trying out a more proud stance but didn't feel very balanced so lowered himself down a little.
Once more, Karensha and Basilisk talked back an forth about things Maji didn't quite understand. The little cub Yawned. He was getting tired.

Jabari stood still, he wasn't quite sure if he saw correctly, ... but he thought the small lioness face was disfigured just like his, but before he could move forward she must have sensed his presence as she froze and covered her face. Slowly as not to scare her he moved a little closer and then stopped. From where he stood he could inspect her more carefully,and from where he was it looked as though something had attacked her. Trying to control his anger he watched as her ears flattened more and she didn't move, surely she wasn't expecting him to attack her as well.
Clearing his throat a little he was about to speak to her, but then caught himself as he wasn't sure what to say, the last thing he wanted was to scare her away. Taking a few more steps towards her, but still leaving enough room so she wasn't feeling to threatened, he paused and lowered his voice almost to a whisper.
"My name is Jabari... if you would like a safe place to take shelter for the night, all you have to do is follow me a short way, there are others there as well, I'm not alone."
About to turn to see if she would follow, the cheetah halted and looked at her sheltered face " perhaps if you stop hiding and look at me, you will see I'm not that much different looking to you." Jabari then moved slightly so that if she chose to look she would see the scarred side of his face that he tried to keep from prying eyes.

Sera didn't know how much time had passed after Basilisk had left her alone when he suddenly returned again. She kept staring at the entrance, until he spoke to her. She lifted her head and turned to look at him, then after a moment she shrugged and rested her head on her paws again, though she was still watching him.
"I don't tend to plan much", she said. "I'll probably stick around this area for a while and see how things work out." The cheelion paused and stared at Basilisk for a while.
"My name is Jabari -- perhaps if you stop hiding and look at me, you will see I'm not that much different looking to you."
The white lioness was startled when the cheetah suddenly spoke to her, and she quickly raised her head. In the process, however, her hair moved away from her face. If the left side had been awful, the right side was probably worse. A long scar ran across her face, and her right eye was completely creamy white.
The lioness blinked her eyes. The cheetah seemed all right, or at least he was trying to be as non-threatening as possible... And, as he had said, his face was scarred as well. She blinked again, and flattened her ears more, but at least she remained still and didn't make any movement to flee. Now the only thing she was wondering was what she should do with this cheetah. He had suggested she could come with him, but... She wasn't so sure about these "others" that the cheetah had mentioned, and thus she still remained where she was and just stared at the cheetah with her only eye.

karensha kept on going pulling the carcess along the ground, her tail swinging from side to side, the cub still sitting on her neck, while muttering as best she could. "all..right...suit...your..self, pom..pous...ass, you...could... have..helped..pull..this..beast.. for..every..one.. to have a..piece..of, but no....."
Suddenly the snow leopard stopped , there straight in her vision was the cheetah from the waterhole and a ... well she thought it was a lioness, but it seemed to be pretty messed up by the looks, she couldn't really get a good view cause all the matted fur was hanging down.
"So, you both come looking for dinner have you ?"
karensha stood there looking at them both, waiting.

Maji stayed still on Karenshas back, looking in the direction they were going. He heard her muttering to herself as she dragged the carcass inch by inch. Maji could tell she was frustrated so he decided to help. Balancing himself, the cub jumped down onto the carcass and then onto the ground. Grabbing the gazelle by the hair, he began to pull. He didn't think he was doing much but thought that every little bit helps so he continued to pull.
Then, the carcass stopped moving all at once and looked up to see Karensha had stopped dragging the gazelle all at once and was now looking at something. Maji turned his attention to whatever it was that had caught Karenshas attention.
Maji ran back to Karensha to hide behind her again when he saw what it was. He knew something was out there and now it was standing right there. At second glance, Maji noticed it was a lioness and it was covered in cuts and gashes and bruises and even one eye that was pale white all over. This definitely was a scary looking lioness to Maji. He tried as best he could not to look at her. Karensha didn't seem bothered by it though. She acted as if she had known she would be there.
"So, you both come looking for dinner have you ?"

"I don't tend to plan much, I'll probably stick around this area for a while and see how things work out."
Basilisk hesitated to answer for a second, as he noticed that he and Sera were staring back and forth at each other.
"Well if you want a relaxing environment, then you'll love it here. Not much goes on, except for all the new people showing up today. I've got some new neighbors I guess."

Jabari's nose twitched, he could hear something coming towards himself and this lioness and then the scent reached his nostrils, making him relaxed, was only the snow leopard and the cub, seeing they didn't much leave each others side the last few days. "seems we have company, Please..don't run away, you look like you could use some help for a little while."
Turning his head, when from the corner of his eye he could see the cub standing there staring, until it took fright and ran and hid behind Karensha, he wondered how the snow leopard was going to greet this small one, obviously running and scared from something catastrophic. Way he heard next, wasn't what he was expecting.
"So, you both come looking for dinner have you ?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karensha stood there trying not to stare at the newcomer, after all the sight of Jabari hadn't bothered her at all, but this one she just looked so abused and a sad sight for eyes, that Karensha didn't know what to do or say, so she spoke the silliest thing that happened to come into her mind.
"well what I mean is, you are both welcome to share the kill, just thought I would drag it back to where were a little bit more, I thought I had that other mangey lion to help, but seems he had other things on his mind, and couldn't wait to get away fast enough. So Maji and I carried on by ourselves."
Remembering the cub, she looked down between her front paws and under, squinting slightly seeing darkness had fallen even more. "Maji, come here, I don't need to loose you." Picking him up she placed him back on her neck among her lilac fur that was floating all around, glad to feel his paws against her skin. "Thank you for helping me Maji, you were very strong in pulling the meat, couldn't have got this far without you."
Turning back Karensha looked at Jabari and the lioness and raised her eyebrows as if asking a question.
"seems we have company, Please..don't run away, you look like you could use some help for a little while."
The white lioness tensed at the cheetah's words, and soon enough her head turned around to look at the snow leopard. She could only stare at them, too paralysed to do any kind of movement even as the leopard spoke. She glanced back and forth between the cheetah and the leopard, not knowing what to do. It seemed that these two were already familiar with each other, so perhaps this leopard was the one this cheetah had been talking about when he had mentioned the "others".
Only after this thought had come to her mind she finally noticed the small lion cub. He looked frightened to her, and it seemed he was doing his best not to look at her. The white lioness flattened her ears and lowered her head slightly so that her thick blue hair covered her blind eye and the long scar.
"Well if you want a relaxing environment, then you'll love it here. Not much goes on, except for all the new people showing up today. I've got some new neighbors I guess."
Sera chuckled amusedly, not only because of what Basilisk had said but also because he seemed troubled by the fact that she was staring at him. She decided it might be better to stop staring so that he would not feel so uncomfortable, and so she turned to gaze at the entrance again.
"Not much of a talker, huh?" Basilisk asked as Sera turned her head.
Basilisk rolled over so that he was now on his side facing her.
"I thought you would have had questions about the area, or me, or anything really."
"Thank you for helping me Maji, you were very strong in pulling the meat, couldn't have got this far without you."
Once again, just the fact that Karensha had called him strong made Maji actually feel strong. He had never felt that way before. He had never felt strong or brave or anything. A small hint of courage came to him and he decided to take another glance at the lioness. Instead of a scary looking lioness, this time, Maji saw that she was afraid or shy or something.
Maji decided to do something. But what? He knew that if anything was to happen to endanger him, Karensha was right there behind him. So he decided to approach the lioness. His eyes never left the one eye that she didn't hide behind her blue fur. Majis heart was beating faster and faster even though he knew that it wasn't likely that something was going to happen to him. Slowly, Maji lifted a paw when he was close enough and set it gently on her paw. He looked up her front leg until he was looking up at her face and smiled slightly.
Jabari stood there watching Karensha and the cub, it seemed she was taking the easy path about the newcomer and was pretending that all was fine, and trying to carry on as normal, hoping to put the small lioness at ease.
"Please.. don't be afraid, you're perfectly safe here with us.. if it wasn't do you think we would let a small cub run around here by himself.. so don't run away.. there's fresh meat for us all to share, you as well."
"Not much of a talker, huh? I thought you would have had questions about the area, or me, or anything really."
Sera chuckled faintly and glanced at Basilisk from her eye corner. "You'll have to forgive me my lack of words", she replied to the lion. "I'm not really used to talking much..." She paused, then turned her head slightly so that she could look at Basilisk better. "If you do want to talk though", she continued, "I would be interested to hear how you found this area... Or have you always lived here?"
"-- there's fresh meat for us all to share, you as well."
The white lioness' gaze shifted between the snow leopard and the cheetah. After a moment she sighed and lowered her gaze to the ground, and gave a small nod to agree to go with them where ever they would be taking her. The temptation of actually getting something to eat was too much to pass by, and so far she had only seen one lion in this group, and it happened to be a cub. She didn't really think these strangers were much of a threat to her.
Karensha looked over her shoulder watching when she felt the cub slide off her neck and down to the ground. Following his every move she saw him slowly edge towards the lioness. With her eyes narrowing slightly the snow leopards stance stiffened a fraction, if one wrong move was made towards Maji, the lioness would be even worse for wear than she was now.
"If you do want to talk though, I would be interested to hear how you found this area... Or have you always lived here?"
Basilisk paused for a moment to think about an answer for the question. He didn't want to say something stupid after all.
"Well, I grew up in a pretty small group, and we lived in a cave just barely bigger than this. After a while I decided to go out on my own to be adventurous. After a long while of aimless wondering and sleeping without shelter, I stumbled upon this. I took a walk around and found the water, so I decided this would be the perfect place to stay."
Basilisk paused to think of another question for Sera.
"So is there anything specifically that you're looking for, or are you just wondering around like I was?"
When the lioness didn't seem to notice him, Maji decided to take a step back and tilted his head as he looked up at her. Turning around, the cub looked back at Karensha and then back at the lioness. Scampering back to Karensha, Maji this time sat down between Karenshas front paws, looking at the lioness and the cheetah.
Watching as the lioness couldn't met their eyes , instead she sighed and lowered her head to the ground, and her blue fur again covered her features. In doing so she missed out on seeing the cub take a few tentative steps towards her, but soon enough Maji back tracked and now Karensha found him hiding between her front paws.
Leaning down she licked him gently on the top of his head, letting him know all was well and then moved back and took hold of the carcass and started pulling it once more, thru the overhanging branches and back towards the waterhole. It was time to eat their fill and then sleep off the days troubles and circumstances.
"So is there anything specifically that you're looking for, or are you just wondering around like I was?"
Sera was silent for a while before she answered. "You could say that", she said slowly, examining Basilisk's expression. "I have no goal really, I simply roam around in look for a better place to live." She chuckled unamusedly with a serious expression. "Or you could say that I look for a place where I actually am welcome to stay. Your kind has not been friendly to me, Basilisk. To be honest, you're the first lion for quite a while that I can speak with quite normally."
The white lioness heard how the leopard began pulling away the carcass. She lifted her head only slightly and watched the cat leave from under the curtain of blue hair. She moved very slightly to check what the cheetah was doing, but he just seemed to be standing there. She turned back to where the leopard was. The chance to actually eat something was simply tempting, but she still wasn't sure whether or not to go. She lifted her head more so that the curtain of hair revealed her still working left eye, and she turned her gaze at the cheetah, as if she was asking him what she should do.
