Name: Kabechet
Name origin: name of an Egyptian snake goddess, daughter of Anubis
Species: King Cobra
Age: unknown, though clearly an adult
Gender: Female
Description:
She is a very large cobra, one of the longest of her species, as her length is 5.4 metres. Despite her size she is agile and can launch a quick bite attack in a blink of an eye. Her skin is black, with a slight hint of thin, golden stripes across her body. Her belly is of golden colour, as is the underside of her hood. The hood has a face pattern on it with two eye-like black spots and stripes that look like a laughing mouth with sharp fangs.
Like all king cobras, she too has two short, fixed fangs in the front of her mouth that channel her venom into her bite victims’ body. She also has very good eyesight, like snakes generally do, and she can use both earth’s vibration and her forked tongue to track down her prey.
Special Abilities:
(She'll most likely be used more on the normal RPs without her powers, but they're there in case I need them)
Cure – She can change her venom into a cure against toxins. When the poisoned victim drinks her “pure” venom, they will become well again. Kabechet herself loathes this ability as she sees it as “useless”.
Agility – Due to being a cobra, she is already swift with her movements. With this ability she can temporarily raise her speed even higher, giving her the opportunity to take her victims by total surprise – or to flee when it would otherwise be impossible.
Chameleon – This is another ability that helps her on her hunts. She can change her colouration much the same way a chameleon does. She becomes nearly invisible to naked eye, and it requires some serious skill to detect her.
Sandstorm – Perhaps not as useful as the other abilities, but it has proven itself useful at times. Kabechet can raise a massive sandstorm that both blinds her opponents and gives her the cover she needs to either strike or flee. This ability is also where she either received or took her name, as she connects Egypt with sand.
Behaviour:
Like all members of her species, Kebachet is very aggressive and is likely to strike at anything that moves too close on her territory. When she feels threatened she will lift her body and spread her hood so that the face markings become visible. While doing this, she releases a loud hiss with her mouth wide open. If this won’t scare the intruder away, but instead irritates her further, she will strike, even up to two metres distance from where she is. She will either bite and hold on, or bite several times, depending on how irritated she is. She isn’t stupid though, and knows when it’s better to flee rather than attack.
Should you come upon her when she has just fed, she is rather passive and easy approach. This is the only time you really can get to know and befriend her, for on any other moment she will just try to figure a way to make you her next meal.
Diet:
Her primary source of food is other snakes, also venomous ones. Occasionally she also feeds on lizards, birds and small mammals… Anything she is fast enough to catch and kill, and big enough to swallow. Most of the time she kills her prey with her venom, though on rare occasions she is known to constrict her victims. After a large mean she can go on for months before she needs to feed again.
History:
Not much is known of her past. Somehow she managed to survive becoming prey of others of her species. Perhaps she was more aggressive than her other siblings, thus surviving even against her own siblings upon the time they hatched. Her aggressive behaviour has helped her survive, and now she has very little to fear from other creatures, even those of her own species.
((I will add a picture later, I've drawn it but it needs scanning and colouring. Also as I do that her colouration might change a bit depending on how colours look like together etc.))
