"Well, what were you striving for prior to this recent event? Perhaps I can help you get back on your feet."
Casri laughed un-amusedly and quickly glanced at Terryn before she continued to stare the table's surface. Her next words came out as unclear muttering. "That would be something to see..."
She shook her head, then lifted her gaze. Instead of looking at Terryn though, she gazed around the inn, watching the people in there. They all were so normal, so oblivious of what direction the future could take. With the new king in charge, things didn't look so bright. Yet here, in this distant town, everyone seemed to be happy.
"I was... close with the princess", she finally answered Terryn, her voice very quiet. She was still watching the crowd. "I do thank you for your offer to help me, but... Unless you have an army hidden in your sleeve, I doubt I can 'get back on my feet' so easily, as you put it."

Kaden was having fun with his little game of cat and mouse that he was having with his new friend. It wasn't often that the new king would send people after him, but having a dragon on his tail made him feel special. He knew that he had to find someplace crowded but when he made it to the closest town, it seemed like everyone was indoors.
The inn was the first place he saw that seemed like a large and he knew that the dragon had lost a visual contact on him. He ran straight to the door and opened without trying to bring to much attention to him. He made it through the crowd of people that were inside to a table that had only a man and woman sitting there who both had long hair. He didn't bother to ask whether he could sit with them and just pulled up a seat.
"Sorry for joining in on the conversation here, but I needed to rest my legs for a bit."
Kaden knew that the dragon wouldn't take too long to find him again, but he thought he could atleast relax for a few minutes before it found him.
"So how has your day been so far you two becuase mine has been exhausting."

"I was... close with the princess"
"Perhaps I've met you before then, you do look kind of familiar," Terryn stated, "the princess and I were pretty good friends growing up, but I doubt she'd remember me. That, and she probably has me in her bad books about the whole argument with the king."
"I do thank you for your offer to help me, but... Unless you have an army hidden in your sleeve, I doubt I can 'get back on my feet' so easily, as you put it."
"You've come to the right person," Terryn said cracking a wide grin.
"Sorry for joining in on the conversation here, but I needed to rest my legs for a bit. So how has your day been so far you two because mine has been exhausting."
"It's been... interesting." Terryn replied.

"You've come to the right person."
Casri couldn't help but return the grin. She understood now why Terryn looked so familiar, but she still didn't have the faintest of ideas who exactly he was. Perhaps with time she would remember, though chances were that with time Terryn too would remember, and she wasn't certain yet if that was good or bad.
However, she didn't have time to ponder this further as a complete stranger suddenly came to sit in their table. She stared at the man with slightly widened eyes, her whole body tense. It took her a moment to even realize that the man was speaking.
Casri blinked her eyes. "I-uh..." she muttered, still slightly confused by the man's sudden arrival.
"It's been... interesting."
She decided that Terryn was right, the day had been interesting. And so she simply nodded, but she said nothing. Her gaze was locked firmly on this new stranger, and she didn't dare to say or do anything else.
'Well that's just perfect', Kirianzath thought as she soared above Snowtops.
Her "prey" had fled between the buildings, and she would not be able to follow him there without knocking at least a few houses down. And, by the looks of it, her prey had fled into the local inn, and she was certainly not happy about that.
She pondered her options. She could make a grand entrance, dive down from the sky and rip open the inn's roof, then grab what she needed and be on her way. However, rash actions like that would not please her superiors. Besides, she would make herself a perfect target for arrows and other throw-able objects if she just landed there.
She tilted her head. She could just simply wait here up on the sky until her prey would flee. The people below her hadn't noticed her presence yet, she had made sure that she would be hidden by the clouds as she examined the village.
But then again... Waiting was boring, and she wanted to do something! With a heavy sigh she decided she could try to lure her prey outside, and while doing so scare the whole village. After all, what would gain her superiors' approval more than making sure that even the distant towns would fear the new king's might.
Satisfied with her decision, Kirianzath folded her wings against her sides and dropped below the clouds. She was gaining speed as she fell, and she opened her maw to release a loud roar that would certainly scare everyone in the town below her.

Kaden was really starting to relax with his new company that he just met. They didn't seem very social right now but he couldn't blame them since he just appeared out of no where. He wanted to get some food from here but it seemed he will have to delay his meal since it was way to crowded.
Out of nowhere then, a loud roar was heard through out the inn and made everyone freeze it seemed. He knew exactly that it was the same dragon that has been chasing him for awhile now.
"Well this should be getting interesting."
Kaden was trying to think of ways to escape, but he kinda wanted to go up against the dragon to see how tough they are. He looked at the two people who were at the table with him and saw that the both had weapons.
"Hey you two are armed I see, have either of you ever gone up against a dragon?"

The table was suddenly quieter once the stranger showed up. Casri seemed timid around new people, and Terryn wasn't sure what he should say.
His thought process was interrupted by a loud roar coming from above. He understood now why the stranger was breathing so heavily and why he walked into the inn.
"Well this should be getting interesting."
"Brought a friend along, huh?"
"Hey you two are armed I see, have either of you ever gone up against a dragon?"
Terryn looked down at his waist.
"I have a short sword... it's not my first weapon of choice for fighting dragons."

The loud roar made Casri pale, and a slight hint of horror was making its way into her eyes.
"Hey you two are armed I see, have either of you ever gone up against a dragon?" "I have a short sword... it's not my first weapon of choice for fighting dragons."
Casri slowly placed her hand on her bow and took hold of it. The wood felt comforting under her touch and prevented her voice from trembling when she spoke. "Do tell, stranger... How do you propose that us three would fight against a dragon, when I have seen an entire army fail...?"
She shook her head, and glanced at the door nervously. "No, I think I would rather flee... The sooner the better."
Kirianzath enjoyed this. Already she could hear the screams from below when the villagers saw her plummeting down from the sky. She was a black bolt, approaching the ground with such speed it seemed impossible that she could be stopped before hitting any of the houses.
But just in time she spread her wings and straightened her fall, releasing another roar as she did so. She was still falling, but now she was controlling it. With a swift push from her wings she changed her direction, and swooped low right above the houses. She let her long tail hit some of the roofs, causing just enough damage to make some of the roof tiling come loose and fall.
With another flap of wings she rose higher, already turning on air to swoop over the houses again, this time aiming for the inn. How long would it take before her prey would come out?

"Do tell, stranger... How do you propose that us three would fight against a dragon, when I have seen an entire army fail...?"
"I don't know." Kaden said with much enthusiasm in his voice, obviously liking the situation he was in. He didn't even pay attention to what else she said. "But that's what makes it so much fun."
Leaning back in his chair, he heard all the screams that were outside and didn't want to go out there since it was too noisy. He was trying to figure if there was any way they could kill the dragon but he wasn't exactly equipped to do it.
"hmmm, well if we can't kill it then we should probably try to injure it so it won't chase us."
He kept thinking of how to make it so the dragon would have a tougher time to chase and suddenly sat straight up when he got an idea.
"If you two help me take out the dragon wings so it can't fly, I can get us away from the thing."

"No, I think I would rather flee... The sooner the better."
"We can go to my house. It sits in the forest so it will be hard to the dragon to spot it from up high because of all the trees."
It was going to be difficult to get from here into the trees though. The dragon would surely see them exiting the building.
"You, stranger, walk out the front door and distract it while we slip out the back.

Kirianzath was gliding right above the rooftops, her tail carelessly flicking more tiles loose from the roofs. The inn was her primary target now, and she reached out with her claws as it approached. She flapped her wings once, gracefully slowing her flight down just enough to scrape the inn's roof with all of her four feet. Then she flapped her wings again and rose directly upwards, roaring again in delight at the panic she was causing. This was fun, and she couldn't wait to see what her prey would do next.
"You, stranger, walk out the front door and distract it while we slip out the back."
Casri lifted her hood up, hiding her smile into the shadows that it cast on her face. "That sounds like a good plan", she agreed, not quite succeeding to keep the amusement out of her voice.
However, when she heard the ripping sound from the roof, she froze, gripping her bow tighter in order to stay calm. "I suggest we move on then", she said, her amusement gone. "Preferably before the dragon decides to crash through the roof."

"You, stranger, walk out the front door and distract it while we slip out the back." "Uhhhh, no." Kaden replied with a grin on his face, "I'll follow you and tell the dragon that you are my partners if you don't help."
Kaden wasn't much into forcing others into helping him, but he didn't have much of a choice when there is a dragon after him. The dragon was waiting for him to come out and wasn't going to let him escape easily
"I don't think the thing cares whether or not I'm lying and will probably still attack you." He wondered how patient the dragon was and how long before it wil try to take down the inn. "I'm not asking for much, just for one of you two to be a distraction for me so I can make a big enough wound on it, and after that I will get you to your house safely."

"I'll follow you and tell the dragon that you are my partners if you don't help."
"It may be a dragon, but I think it's smart enough to notice you were alone before you went into the inn." Terryn replied.
"I'm not asking for much, just for one of you two to be a distraction for me so I can make a big enough wound on it, and after that I will get you to your house safely."
"Not asking me too much? You asking me to distract a dragon with just a short sword."
Terryn breathed a heavy sigh and decided he shouldn't leave him with the dragon by himself.
"Fine," Terryn replied, "Casri, you slip out the back and run into the trees. I'll find you after we get a chance to get away."
"Alright, lets go." He said looking back at the stranger.

"Fine. Casri, you slip out the back and run into the trees. I'll find you after we get a chance to get away."
Casri sighed heavily, and glared at the stranger from the shadows of her hood before she got up and grabbed her bow. "I shall see you shortly, then", she said quietly.
Then she moved away, swiftly finding her way through the inn. The people inside were mostly horrified, some of them seemingly debating whether or not it would be safer to stay inside or outside when the dragon would strike the inn again.
She paid them no heed for now as she walked to the back door. She slipped outside without glancing back in, and warily looked up at the sky. She saw the dragon now, rising higher and higher on the sky, and her breathing hitched. It was a black one, but she was certain she had seen a flash of silver...
She shook her head and turned her gaze away from the dragon, moving swiftly away from the inn. She stuck to the shadows where she could, hoping that they would mask her presence from the dragon long enough so that she could get to the trees.
Kirianzath twisted on air, half folding her wings as she began yet another dive from the sky. Her prey had not yet come out, and she was getting impatient. Perhaps if she raised the stakes a little...?
She grinned, opening her maw as she sucked in the air that flowed into her mouth. She hadn't been supposed to tear down the inn, but... It seemed that would be inevitable now. Besides, if that got her prey out easier, then why not do it?
She was almost on top of the inn when she saw movement at the ground. Her gaze focused on the cloaked figure in the shadows, and her blood-red eyes narrowed. Someone clearly was uncomfortable that she was attacking the inn... But her prey hadn't had a cloak like that, nor had her prey carried a bow, so she decided she would leave it for now and concentrate on what she was supposed to do.
And so, when she was right above the inn, she used her breath attack. The cone of acid came out of her maw with a roaring rumble, and landed successfully on the inn's roof. She passed the inn and glanced back, grinning when she saw the roof tiles sizzling. Soon enough the acid would go through the roof and inside the inn, that certainly would drive her prey out!

Kaden got up when the guy called him to go, but heard something going on outside. He was confused at first and stood there for a second until he started to hear something sizzle above him. Looking up he saw that acid was just about to drop right on his new temperary partner.
"Son of a.."
He quickly shoved the guy out of the way and got a few drops of acid on his clothing. The acid was burning through the cloth so Kaden had to take of the shirt. Underneath his shirt though was leather armour and a pair of trench knives. He looked at his shirt with sadness before switching his expression to anger.
"That was my favourite shirt." Kaden exclaimed over-dramatically.
Kicking open the front door, Kaden walked into the middle of the street to see that the dragon flying. He pointed at the dragon still visibly angry at losing the shirt.
"You, you owe me a new shirt," He yelled at the creature.

Terryn made sure that Casri got out the back and into the forest without being noticed by the dragon, and then returned his attention to the stranger.
"Son of a.."
"Wha--"
Terryn was shoved from his position and ended up on the floor. He hadn't realized that the dragon had used its acid to burn a hole though the roof.
"You, you owe me a new shirt,"
"We can worry about that later. Now, I assume you have some sort of plan for this next part, or did you want to to just wave my arms around and hope that's a good enough distraction?"

"You, you owe me a new shirt"
Kirianzath laughed out loud when she heard her prey yell those words. So her attack had landed on its mark... And better yet, it had driven out her target.
She pulled her wings close to her body and twisted around on air, then spread her wings again and began heading towards her prey again. To her surprise she noticed he wasn't alone any more. She growled in annoyance as she noticed the coat of arms on the other man's cloak. How had her prey managed to join in with this one?!
She shrugged these thoughts aside, deciding that it was too bad if this guy was working for the king. The king wouldn't mind. If he was aiding her prey, he would deserve to be punished just as much as the man she was hunting.
So, Kirianzath opened her mouth. "KADEN!" the name came out as a thundering roar, yet at the same time the roar was mixed with a laugh. "Sorry about your shirt. I'm sure the King will gladly give you a new one! Now how about you come with me so that no one gets hurt."
Casri flinched when she heard the dragon roar her words at this "Kaden", whom she assumed to be the stranger that had interrupted her and Terryn's conversation and dragged them into this mess. So the dragon was clearly working for the king... And that wasn't good for her well being. She would be smart to leave Snowtops right away, and go as far away from Kaden as possible.
However, as Casri reached the trees and walked deeper into the forest to hide herself, she couldn't bring herself to leave. She was far too curious of who Terryn was, and she was certain if she left now she would regret it later.

When the dragon started to fly down to Kaden, he started to take an interest in it's wings. He wondered if he could make a new shirts if he took one of it's wings. It wasn't common for people to have shirts made from a dragon, so Kaden would feel pretty special if he managed to get one.
"Sorry about your shirt. I'm sure the King will gladly give you a new one! Now how about you come with me so that no one gets hurt."
Kaden snapped out of his imagination to see that the dragon landed right in front of him. The king obviously wanted him dead, probably since he killed a few of his men. He grabbed one of his knives and pointed at the dragon again, this time at it's wing instead of it's entire body.
"How would a shirt made of that wing look, Mr. Dragon?" Kaden asked, obviously mistaking the dragons gender, "because I think it would look like a good substitute for the one you ruined."

"Told you she was only after you. She doesn't care about Casri and I."
"How would a shirt made of that wing look, Mr. Dragon? because I think it would look like a good substitute for the one you ruined."
"Why did I decide to help him?" Terryn asked himself as he let out a deep sigh.
"And how exactly do you plan on getting some of her wing? She isn't just going to let you rip off a piece. Anyway, the point was to get away from it, not challenge it."

"How would a shirt made of that wing look, Mr. Dragon? because I think it would look like a good substitute for the one you ruined."
Kirianzath flapped her wings slightly, then pulled them against her sides. She had estimated the space between the houses, and she knew she would fit, and even have enough room to move freely. She dropped to the ground with a loud thud, causing a dust cloud to rise from the ground.
While the dust cloud was still settling, the dragon looked Kaden with a mock-horror on her face. "Ohhh, I'm so scared now!"
"And how exactly do you plan on getting some of her wing? She isn't just going to let you rip off a piece. Anyway, the point was to get away from it, not challenge it."
She glanced at the man beside Kaden now. "Indeed? You are free to go, soldier. It would do you no good to have anything to do with this criminal. He has been sentenced to become a slave. Anyone aiding him will share his fate."
She narrowed her eyes. "So how will it be? The King wants Kaden - and his helpers - alive. However, he will not mind too much if I am 'forced' to use unnecessary means to end his existence."
Casri headed towards the part of the forest that was closest to Terryn's house. She remained close to the forest's edge, but still deep enough between the trees to remain hidden. She hoped that Terryn and the stranger would get away from the dragon, and that they wouldn't do anything foolish.

"You don't know if she won't let me take a piece of her wing, she might be nice enough to repay me with a new shirt."
When the dragon started to talk, Kaden just let out a yawn as she continued with her questioning of the man by him. He wanted something to start already since it seemed all the dragon and him were doing was talking instead of having fun. Stretching now, he was wanted to just tell the dragon to be quiet but knew that it would be rude for him to say that when the dragon let him finish talking.
"So how will it be? The King wants Kaden - and his helpers - alive. However, he will not mind too much if I am 'forced' to use unnecessary means to end his existence."
"Anyone ever tell you that you talk too much mr. dragon?" Kaden, still mistaking the gender of the dragon, sat down on the ground showing how bored he was getting of just standing there. "Now are you gonna try to catch me or are you just gonna keep stinking up the place with your bad breath some more."
